“From the moment we stepped off our bus in puño this stay was a highlight of our trip. To start, the floating islands are unique and something that you need to experience.
Felix showed us a level of kindness and hospitality you don’t often see in the world anymore and we were left with full hearts and a new appreciation for the way people on the Uros islands look out for each other as a community.
As for the rooms, they were beautiful and we spent hours lying in the sun lounge relaxing, reading our books and watching the boats pass by.
This was one of those experiences you remember forever and I’m so glad we booked here.”
“I like this purely natural hut on the primitie floating island, where we enjoyed the sun at our balcony. If you want, you can also swim in the lake. It's a very unqiue experience to stay on the floating island with acceptable cost.
The breakfast is included , with two local bread + egg or avocado or chicken. Fruit+honey and hot tea is provided, too. => delicious.
The dinner has trout or chicken with potato+rice+tomato+cucumber. I like the trout the most, it's very fresh and tasty.
The bed is very supportive and the quilt is very thick (3 flannel blanket in total), so it kept me warm in the midnight.
The owner Nicanor also organize the tour to visit the community(private tour by him) or to Taquile island(refer us to a travel agency)
Nothing goes wrong, but you need to be aware of the additional cost:
Dinner: 25 soles per person
Breakfast is included.
Pick up from/to Kalapajra Puerto: 20 soles one way, per boat. (so 40 soles for two ways)
Community tour: 30 soles/2hr per person
Taquile island tour: 100 soles per person, including ticket/english speaking guide/lunch.
Don't forget to bargain about the tour price, as his offer is a bit more in our opinion.
All in all, I'm very pleased to stay with Nicanor. I missed the time there.”
“This was hands down one of the nicest experiences I've ever had. Felix is such an amazing, kind, generous, hospitable, helpful and caring owner, who treated us like a family. He shared so much incredible knowledge that helped us to understand the local culture, history and community. He helped us to book a tour through the lake and offered us a delicious dinner and breakfast. It was indeed a bit colder at night but we received bottles of hot water that kept us warm through the night but just pack one extra sweater and you'll be fine. Also, the hot water is running in the shower without any trouble. The place is incredibly calm, quiet and peaceful. I literally have no regrets deciding for this amazing experience.”
“The location had amazing views - what else could you ask for being situated in the middle of Lake Titicaca. Vidal and his family were lovely and friendly. The rooms was exactly as the photo depicted. Our favorite spot would be the lounge area by the lake where you can just sit the whole day. The bathroom is also very comfortable - their toilet is flushable and they have a water heater. Lots of blankets are provided to keep you warm during the night. The food they served though simple was actually one of the best we had in Peru, and that's after dining at Lima and Cusco.”
“The tranquil setting , simplicity, relaxation and watching the sunset tucked under a blanket. Felix went out of his way to make it the perfect stay . He organised some last minute excursions for me . He was the perfect host . Would definitely recommend going.”
“The location of this hotel on the lake is absolutely unique, you should not miss it! Much better than a ordinary hotel in Puno. The owner Felix is very determined to support you in everything you need (also the transfers to the city at any time) and he offers delicious breakfast and dinner (including vegetarian options). You can rent canoes for free.”
