“The hotel is perfectly located for anyone planning on visiting the Zhangjiajie National park. It's a short walk away (<10 minutes) from one of the entrances. An upside of this entrance is that it has fewer tourist crowds which means you are not immediately in the midst of a large group of people when entering the park. This allowed us to enjoy the park a lot more / and is probably especially important if you are there during particularly busy periods.
The hotel is easily reachable from Zhangjiajie if you book a Didi (Uber equivalent) and has a restaurant with some really nice food options (e.g. local hotpot)
Anthony was very caring and prepared an itinerary for us based on the length of our stay without us asking for it. This ended up being super useful considering the available information about the park that can be found online can be a bit confusing at times.”
“This was about the same price as the last hotel at the west gate. So comparing the amenities and comfort, this was much better. This hotel is at the east gate in a bustling part of town with shops and restaurants. It wasn't too difficult to locate but the name "Mountain View Guesthouse" is very different from the Chinese name. Fortunately the pictures in Booking's site helped locate the hotel. The hotel should name the English name close to the Chinese one in case guests get lost and ask locals for directions.
Location was good. Short walk to the east gate to enter ZJJ park. Lots of restaurants to have a meal. There was even street food hawkers. So for deciding where to stay, the east gate is good if you want the buzz, the west gate hotels will be for those who want peace and quiet.
Check in was quick. The staff was very helpful. They have an English speaking agent whom you can speak with over the phone and help you plan and book tours. But the owner with translation app could also help. There was a lift.
The room was big. It had the usual amenities: kettle, tv, aircon, good shower... The bed was comfortable and the room clean.”
“This is by far the best place I've stayed in China and it's all because of Merry, the host. She honestly will make your days in Zhangjiajie INCREDIBLE. Firstly, because she knows everything about the park, having worked there for many years. If you follow her suggestions, you'll really feel like you had the most of the place. Her meals are out of this world, freshly cooked vegetables, tofu, mushrooms, with that "homey" feel, that change every day. She can pre-book tickets and arrange transportation, in case you need. It's possible to do laundry, free of cost. Her place is less than a 5-minute walk from the main entrance of the park. Rooms are also large, clean, comfortable and quiet. I can't wait to go back to her place!”
“The view was stunning, the crew amazing and you were right next to the national park. They were so helpful, fun and nice. The furnishing and views are STUNNING! We enjoyed it so much. Highly recomended for everyone who wants to relax and see the national park. Especially if you like to sleep longer, it's just 2 Minutes walking distance.”
“Great guys running the place, English-speaking, arranged all the trips around the park. Food very tasty. You don't need anything else to be satisfied if you stay there.”
