Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Clean rooms, very friendly staff at counter, good breakfast with decent spread, very near to bear park so it was convenient in the morning. Hotel surprised me with how pleasant this stay was. Would recommend.

We were booked into the main hotel, but were told before arrival that the hotel would be closed and our accommodation would be in a self catering chalet near to the hotel. All facilities at the hotel were closed when we arrived.

Room is rather dim even with all the lights on. We could not open the curtain as the room we stayed was facing an office block and could see the staff :p
It is conveniently located next to a mall with indoor linked way that houses two supermarkets. Room is big enough and a good stay for stopover if on a road trip. Two minutes away, there is an excellent zoo that we totally enjoyed very much. Breakfast is fresh and good.

The dinner menu was very poor, we were lucky to be able to order pizza even though it was not a Friday or Saturday, the rest of the menu consisted of only a few more dishes.
The size of the rooms were good, the breakfast was very nice and varied, the location was perfect for our stay at the Bjørneparken, but not really for anything else

Room was a bit too hot.
Service very good, room clean and the breakfast spread is excellent. The location is good as a stopping point on the way north to the fjords.

Perfect hotel after visiting Bjørnenpark or as a stop on a road trip. Personnel was very nice and helpful. Free coffee and tea in the lobby and in the room (Nesspresso). Great breakfast!

There was nothing I could fault.
From the outside, I really wasn’t expecting much more than a motel but as soon as we stepped inside and were greeted by Thomas on reception, I knew this was going to be great. Freeflow coffee was available for guests in reception and in a station inside the cafe/restaurant too. Check in was smooth and we were soon in our very comfortable, airy and large room. The beds were super comfortable with pillows and duvets like marshmallows covered in crisp clean linen. There were plenty of sockets to charge electrical items and lots of surfaces to place our personal items. The bathroom shower was excellent and very powerful with lots of hot water. Although the hotel is attached to the Mall with a number of supermarkets and McDonald’s, We had dinner in the hotel’s on site restaurant - we both had schnitzel - and it was plentiful and delicious. Our waiter also refilled the bottle of water for us too. Breakfast was a thing of beauty - so much choice and everything supremely well cooked and warm too. The cinnamon rolls were gorgeous. I had a great night’s sleep as the curtains blocked out the light and we were not disturbed by any road noise. It really was a pretty perfect stop over and I’m only sorry we had just one night.

Stressfull cafe/bar area with most tables starring into to a grocery store. Way to bright and with TVs disturbing the rest of the tables. Impossible to find a relaxing spot in the evening. Asked if they could dim the lights, but they just turned them from "super intense" to "quite intense".
Parking by the entrance, efficient service. Ok room. Ok breakfast.

The carpets in the room and the hotel throughout were worn and shabby.

We booked 2 rooms and requested they be situated close to each other, which was approved. However, we did not receive this, instead got rooms which were quite far from each other. The rooms were freezing. But the staff did adjust the room temperature. But none the less, we had a good stay.
Close to the bear park. Great location. Great breakfast buffet.
