Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room is quite small. Also, they have limited other amenities, such as an onsite fitness room.
The hotel is in a great location. It is convenient to the historical district.

The room was an awkward shape (couldn’t fully open a suitcase) - other rooms seemed bigger.
Breakfast was excellent, everything was fresh and consistently replenished.

Our shower drain was broken and even though we asked for it to be fixed twice it wasn’t.
Nice hotel in a great location. Harbour and Mountain View’s was great to look at on an evening and during the morning.

The location is perfect, just a few steps from Bryggen. The breakfast was OK. The staff was very helpful. I arrived before check-in time and there was a locker available to let my luggage with no extra cost.

A bit pricey but that’s common in Norway. So not unexpected.
Easy walk from the tram. Clean. Amazing views as you come out. Great breakfast. Decent sized rooms. Workspace. Very close to discount grocery stores.

I wish the windows were cleaner, that the scene through the window could shine, the room, especially the bathroom a bit modestly furnished
the location is excellent, for those who like to be right in the center, from the window there is a view towards the fish market, and across the harbor to the famous Bryggen, there is a good choice for breakfast, helpful, friendly staff

I suggest not leaving attending breakfast to the last hour of service as it is quite busy and finding a table is difficult
Good selection on offer at breakfast The hotel is well located in the main area of Bergen near restaurants, convenience stores and charter boats offering trips to the fjords. The room came with TV and small fridge.

Perhaps another chair in the room or a little more storage would have been nice.
Hotel location is excellent. Right by the water. I was concerned it might be quite noisy in the hotel room because of this but it was very quiet. The breakfast was excellent - varied, plentiful and hot.

The standard room is very small and the single cots are quite narrow. The view from our window was horrible as it was some dumping place and we could hear some loud noises of things being dumped there. Our room was at the back side and not facing the road. I think front facing rooms may not have this issue.
The location is very good as its walking distance to all the sight seeing places. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety. The staff was very pleasant. The bathroom is quite spacious.

The room was clean and well furnished but a little on the small side, also there was a kettle in the room but no cups or tea or coffee provided
The location was absolutely perfect, right in the centre of the tourist heart of the city. Paid extra for a room with a view of the harbour and it was well worth it and would thoroughly recommend it. There was an excellent choice for breakfast and the restaurant staff were efficient and friendly.

Room was small & bathroom was very small making it difficult to use. Tissues & shower caps etc. were not provided. No fridge in the room. Bottled water on arrival in the room would have been appreciated if provided.
The room with a view was very good. Breakfast was very good along with the staff.

Facility had no Kleenex in the rooms. Also, the room temperature was too warm. There was no airflow and the room was stuffy. There is no individual room control over the A/C. The staff had central control and could not lower the temperature! They indicated they had problems with the system.

No milk provided in room for tea/coffee. Staff seemed busy so took a while to get served at the shop.
Spacious rooms, clean and close to the centre of Bergen. Shop and bar available at the hotel which was handy. Nice shower and quiet hotel overall.
