We came to Norway from New York for a family trip across country from Oslo to Bergen in April 2023 and we had booked in for a night at Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to break up the drive. It was our first trip to Norway and had no idea that we were going to have one of the absolute best experiences of the entire trip together there. The place is simply beautiful. The people there are incredibly attentive and helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast is world class. The location is stunning. As a personal side note to the owners: My father came to the U.S. from Kongsberg when he was in his very early 20’s and started his new life and family. Growing up in Southern California where my brother and I were exposed to a lot of the antique Scandinavian items, colors, and style. My father was a committed collector at flea markets and swap meets everywhere, and anytime he came across an old collectible related to his homeland, he would proudly bring it home and share the story of it with us, and then find a place to display it in their home. When we came into the main building to check in to our rooms, I told my 17 and 20 year old daughters, “this…this is the story your Grandfather was trying tell us with all those things”.

Located on Lake Vågslidvatn, this hotel is 2.5 mi away from Haukelifjell Ski Center. It offers free WiFi and accommodations with scenic views. rooms were simple but extremely clean. there was a nice sitting area with a great view, good lighting, strong Wi-Fi, and a great remodelled bathroom. breakfast was outstanding and mat pakke was reasonably priced if you needed it. staff were very nice and the common areas were cozy with different sitting areas.

Originally built in 1894, Dalen Hotel is located close to the peaceful shores of the Telemark Canal and Lake Bandak. It offers free WiFi internet and free private parking. All the staff from front desk to restaurant were exceptional. Special praise for Joao and Lorenzo . We learned so much about wine and cocktails from them.

Very good bed in a large clean room The lady who swerved us dinner also checked out the next morning and was very friendly and helpful
