Good location, very central and close to everything - it was also across the street from a little grocery store. I was able to check in early which was helpful. It was useful to have a bathroom and shower attached to the dorm room (soap and towels could've improved the bathroom though).

Stunning island setting with view to Isletas and towards Mount Mombacho on the other side of the island. It felt magical as we were the sole visitors. The room was well appointed and luxurious. A shame our hi-tech shower had no hot water, for this price I expect a high end bathroom experience, the water was cold the mini bar was empty and no tea/coffee making facility. The staff however were friendly.

I have never seen so many rude, contemptuous residents in most of the center city. They make Parisians look like a welcoming committee. They make a habit of fleecing tourists, both our hostel front desk and a food kiosk blatantly charged us more than they were supposed to and we witnessed atrocious behavior toward other tourists. Maybe 5% of the people we interacted with were friendly.
Service was comically bad in the restaurants we visited. They have plenty of tourists, but haven't learned much in the way of hospitality yet. Grocery stores are expensive with poor selections.
Arriving into Managua was not at all bad. And we are finding San Juan del Sur a joy, although this too is fairly pricey bc of all the American and Canadian tourists. Restaurant food was much higher quality and better value, service was great and everyone has been so very friendly.
So, really, all of our bad experiences were in Granada. I have no intention of returning and don't plan to recommend it to anyone. I hope to have a chance to see more of Managua before I leave.

Granada is a bustling city with nice people.
Granada is a bustling city with nice people. We like the fact that we were close to stores, markers, banks, parks etc..
What we did not like, is that there are no street signs, and since we were driving, we got lost a few times. Also, the beach was picturesque but unfortunately it was littered with garbage everywhere. It was very disappointing.

The churches and the restaurants.
The churches and the restaurants. There was a variety of restaurants and very reasonable prices. It was easy and inexpensive to get a cab home after dinner if we did not want to walk back to the hotel.
The friendliness and hospitality of the people was amazing.

It is an old city with a lot of old historic buildings. The infrastructure definitely needs upgrading. I have heard many good things about the beach area but I did not go to the beach. There are some sketchy areas at night time. So we did not leave on foot at night. if anyone had a reason to go to Granada I would definitely recommend the Hotel Jardin De Granada.

Great town, unique colonial history and architecture.
Great town, unique colonial history and architecture. Granada is on the huge lake and many interesting volcanic islands that you can visit. A great city for biking, black market and "ramba" walking/dining area behind the beautiful Cathedral. Warning: city square park is beautiful but very crowded esp w aggressive and nasty taxi drivers. Many language schools and American backpackers. Realtively cheap restaurants.
We booked 3 rooms for our family of 5 adults and stayed for 1 night only. The hotel owner was very kind. He stayed up for our late arrival, gave us lots of useful information about Granada and stored our luggage for a few hours after checkout. The pool looked inviting but we didn't have time to use it. We paid an extra $10/room to use the air conditioner. It cooled the room well and was well worth the money. This is a clean budget hotel in a great location, available for a fair price.
Casa del Agua it’s absolutely a gem! a colonial style, full of great colors, and in the center of the city. The house is located in the middle of granada, just one block from the main square, so you can walk everywhere.
Gerry and his family are very welcoming, and it’s interesting to hear his stories and passion for Nicaragua. Plus, he can give you great local advises about where to go in the city!
We spent lovely days at casa del agua, we will definitely come back, thanks Gerry!
This is the most impeccable and stylish hotel you can imagine. With only 4 hotel rooms, you truly feel like an honored guest. Yves, the owner, welcomed us and served us a delicious 3 course breakfast every morning with crepes, fruit and omelets. The pool is as magical as the photos suggest and the rooms and courtyard are even more stunning in person. All the staff are super kind. If you are in Grenada and lucky enough to spend time here, you will be so happy you did.
Excellent owner who welcomed us and took us on a tour of Granada and was responsive to helping us sign up for tours or any other need we had. The room was very nice and the building is a lovely old colonial style home with a nice inner garden. The environment was very social while being light years away from a party hostel, it was still very easy to meet people and we made some new friends. also the breakfast was great and the price was super affordable.
The breakfast was very tasty, hot and served right on time. The hotel is a gorgeous colonial-style mansion that is well preserved and beautifully decorated. The pool is a great addition because Granada can be very hot during the day, so it's perfect to cool off after walking around the city. I really appreciated the help from the two guys working at the reception - very attentive and accomodating.
The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, and the breakfast was good. The hotel was centrally located for walking to all the sights and restaurants of Granada. I would recommend a room on the ground floor as these have a terrace and are quieter than those facing onto the square. The pool area was pleasant for relaxing in after a days sightseeing. The staff were friendly and helpful.
This hotel in Granada is a hidden gem. It is a little bit off center but still within walking distance. They offer paid parking but we parked right in front on the street, no problem. Staff is very attentive, great service. 3 choices for breakfast, all very tasty and more than enough, coffee all day - what more do you need. The rooms are all quite spacious with a nice bathroom.
One of the best values in Granada. Clean, everything works, professional staff, and good breakfast. I have stayed in every hotel on this street and several others in Granada. You will have to pay about 50% more to get something with a bigger room and fancier furniture and bathroom. Ask for a first level room if noise from nearby bars will bother you.
The location is central and close to amazing restaurant and bars. Maria and Gerald were more than helpful and accommodating, not to mention incredibly warm. The breakfast is delicious, and the entire hotel is clean and well maintained. The rooftop is a bonus - we had it all to ourselves one day that had an amazing view of Granada overlooking the city.
The location is spectacular at an isleta close to Granada. A short car drive to the private pier with parking lot from where a short boat trip will take you to the hotel. It really reminds me of Fantasy Island with Ricardo Montalban if you are as old as I am
This hotel is an oasis in the beautiful and bustling city of Granada. The pool and the outside spaces are the perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast was varied and super tasty. The furniture and wood floors makes it feel so classy
Naturally the stuff was very polite .
They clean the room everyday .
This is a normal hotel similar in price and in appearance as other in Granada Nicaragua . Please note ;
I'm staying an extra two days .
Best of all the breakfast was delicious :)
Delicious breakfast, very accommodating hotel owner, and located right in the middle of Granada and Laguna Apollo. If you have a car or moto its the best place to stay around. Layed back but clean and comfortable. Thanks Martina!
Great little hotel right in the center of Granada. Front desk and restaurant staff were super accommodating and welcoming. Strong WiFi and nice little pool area to relax. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
This hotel is in Granada Nicaragua. It is located right next to the lake. If you want to be near the lake it is perfect. The lake is amazing. I love everything about this place.
I like everything, the place, the owner is very friendly and nice, the management is great, I recommend this hotel to stay, is located close to the historical places in Granada.
Beautiful hotel. Lovely pool and views of the plaza. Great breakfast. Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to help us plan outings in the city.
