I felt like I was part of the family- everyone was so friendly! Breakfasts were delicious - both the continental and the Sri Lankan style. I was even given a packed breakfast for my early hiking day! Close to the city center and a nice area, comfy beds and extra blankets at night, hot water and complimentary drinking water and tea!

the grand is an absolute iconic piece of colonial history , gorgeous building , and the gardens need to be seen to be believed , they are truly stunning , fabulous specimen trees and shrubs , lawns and water features maintained to to highest standard , with a delightful pathway meandering through all of its beauty .

A beautiful Hotel located in a beautiful garden. Only few rooms but the level of servie is amazing. The staff was doing their best to help us and the food was really great. they can help you to book the train ticket if you plan to. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Chez Allen on our Nuwara Eliya stop during a 2 day train trip between Kandy and Ella and are so happy we did! Location is great, looking out onto the mountains and village. The family running the place is just so friendly and accommodating! As the town itself doesn’t have that many options to dine in we opted for dinner at Chez Allen, it was delicious! One of our best dinners on our trip so far. And we were able to bring our own bottle of wine to go with (buy it at Cargill in town) as alcohol is limited around Nuwara Eliya.
