The charming Slovenian capital, Ljubljana is the only large city in the country. Dominated by the Castle Hill with Medieval Ljubljana Castle on top, the city is a picturesque Balkan mix of architectural styles, romantic bridges and scenic views.
Due to two major earthquakes in 1511 and 1895, which destroyed many buildings, the Old Town features a range of styles: from Roman period, through Medieval Baroque to Vienna Secession. Such a wonderful city. Set on the river with good musical street entertainment in abundance. Europe's 'Green City' lives up to its name.Visited the Modern Art Museum. Also the Tivoli Gardens, although this proved too big to walk around. Some lovely buildings in the old town and great spaces.

Ljubljana is a nice "old" city, with a lot of beautiful sites to photograph. Take the train ride to see the main sites and then walk around the city. Eat the mushroom's soup, which is a must!! Other places in Slovenia you MUST visit: Postojna caves, Lake Bled, Predjama Castle and Vintgar Gorge. Recommended to book all in advance (several monthes...).LisetePortugal

Broad choice at breakfast - though it may get really busy due to the size of the hotel (lots of people in the morning). It's probably better for business travelers than leisure but if you want to stay in the centre of Ljubljana it's hard to beat.

The location just outside of old town was perfect, on site covered parking was a bonus. We happened to be there on a Friday night so we were able to enjoy Open Kitchen which was quite the scene. Our favorite dinner was at Pri Skofu. Breakfast at the hotel was very good. Slovenia is a beautiful country-wish we had spent one of these nights in the Logar Valley 4 nights in Ljubljana was a lot.
