Only a ten-fifteen walk from the station - don’t get confused with another Daiwa Roynet right next to the station like I did!
Room was quiet and comfortable, it was just a one night stay on the way from Tokyo to Sapporo so it did its job.

Interesting hotel concept with sustainability in mind and featuring local produce. Dining space which doubled up as an Event space with programmes by external parties, little exhibition space next to it on Jazz musician Toshiko Akiyoshi, dining options available below the hotel as well. Breakfast was great, made from local produce with information about the sources.
Thoughtfulness in their amenities - carrier bag for items to the onsen, care pack for female guests etc. Interesting range of facilities - onsen with sauna, cold dip and open air relaxation space. Modern room design.
Great location, within minutes walk to tourist sites like the castle, Iwate bank building, rock splitting sakura tree etc.

We stopped in Morioka on the way to Niseko. It is a small Japanese city with stunning views of Mt Iwate. Our main purpose was to visit friends, so we didn't do much touring, but Morioka is a lovely smaller city, very walkable, with an active city centre of restaurants and many interesting temples. It almost feels like a mini Kyoto while driving around. We enjoyed Wanko Soba, which is famous in Morioka.

I go to Morioka every month or two, while it's a city it doesn't have the crowded or bustling feel. You're also close to nature. The botanical gardens and lake are a short drive as well as Mt. Iwate for climbing. Morioka is also a go-to for Wanko Soba. I've never had a bad meal in Morioka. Overall, Morioka is a good vertical slice of Tohoku and different from the image of Tokyo that saturates people's view of Japan.

We did not spend day time at the city only night time. We were at the ski resort during the day and Morioka is well located to visit the nearby ski resort. Love the drive from Morioka to the country side. People in the restaurant were friendly although very little English was spoken. It feels very authentic for tourists as it is a very down to earth city.

The Castle park and the small river flowing next to the park was really nice. Also the temple district at the north was worth to a visit. Dendenmushi circling the town is convient to visit all city attractions. One day pass is quite economical to be used. The city can also be seen by walking for people with enough time.
I had one day in Morioka with an additional side trip to Hiraizumi. I think the time was sufficient. For people that may eant to enjoy more the downtown area and shopping an additional one day could be useful.
I wish I had more time to try the soba noodles of Morioka.

Morioka is a very nice city with several interesting sights, which can be easily reached on foot. I also loved the 3 local noodle dishes.
It is also a good place as a base for side trips, e.g. to lake Tazawa.

It’s a good transport hub for other tourist sites in the area. Not much to do in and of itself, but a good place to sleep, get some good food, and karaoke a bit before driving out to Hiraizumi or Jodogahama.
Beautiful hotel and our room was beautiful and spacious.
It's about 14 minuets walk from Morioka station at a very lively area with lots of restaurants and izakayas, and it's very close to the castle (we took a taxi to get to the hotel and it was very cheap).
There's a starbacks that's a part of the hotel.
The staff were great and did their best to help.
The breakfast buffe was great (mainly japanese food)
Friendly staff, convenient coin laundry machine that looks rather well maintained. There's a microwave machine next to the entrance for warming takeaway food and the restaurant's seating is available for guests to consume their warmed takeaway food. Location of hotel is near a Family mart and within walking distance to the Morioka train station. It is also within a nice stroll distance to the museums.
The hotel is huge, lobby area is grand! It's right in front of Gosho Lake and Iwate Mountain, a perfect view from you room. Onsen is really good, as well as the free skincare. The staffs are all nice. We are also very lucky to see a free night show of Iwate Ken's traditional dance :)
Great location in the old town of morioka. Lovely old house with original features, traditional tatami and futon rooms. Very nice and welcoming owner, good interaction with other travellers. I paid for a room to myself, so I had easy access to toilet and shower.
The location of the hotel is amazing; directly across from Morioka station. It is also close to lots of eateries and a mall as well. The room was very big (by Japan hotel standards). The lobby was also connected to a Lawsons, amazingly convenient!
the location is farther than expected from morioka station. Walking distance is around 10-15 minutes. If with little kids or a lot of luggages its better to take a taxi or choose a closer hotel from Morioka Station if just for shinkansen transit.
Dormy Inn is a great chain of hotels in Japan! we really enjoyed their rooms, their Onsen, their ice-creams in the exit of th Onsen, they have good washing machines! Their Ramen from 21:30 to 23:00 is extremely recommended!
Perfect selection
The rooms very comfortable and clean. The staff was nice. We were able to leave our luggage before we checked in. We also enjoyed the all you can eat breakfast buffet. The hotel is very close to the train station.
Facilities in this hotel are satisfactory. Both public area and the quadruple room we stayed look new to me. Location is great, very close to the station where you can find shops markets and restaurants
Had a great stay with 3 major baths for their onsen experience. Was able to experience all 3 with the one night stay and 2 meals. Was able to reserve a shuttle ride from/to Morioka Station
This is my favorite hotel in Morioka. I like the comfort and style. The breakfast buffet has a delicious homemade tofu dish as well as other local specialties. Highly recommend!
