It had a beautiful view, the staff was extremely helpful and made it easy to check in, and held our bags while we went sight seeing while we waited for the check in time. The room itself was amazing, spacious as heck!

Has a shuttle to the station, but ends early. Very important to know that hotel is not on the actual island.

This is a first rate ryokan located in the heart of Miyajima. They definitely know how to take care of their guests. We stayed in a western styled room with its own Japanese ofuro (bath) that had a wonderful view. They also have a restaurant the serves outstanding fried oysters and other Japanese cuisine.
On average, 3-star hotels in Miyajima cost $227 per night, and 4-star hotels in Miyajima are $349 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Miyajima can be found for $600 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).

A full day on Miyajima is a good amount of time to explore this pretty island. Catch the 2 stage gondolier up Mount Misen (or climb the trail if you're feeling active) and explore the trails, the ancient shrines and temples and then admire the views at the top. Once back down again, the beachfront is picturesque and nice to wander along admiring the island at low tide.

We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3. I left feeling like I only scratched the surface. Beautiful and peaceful place to unwind, especially after visiting the Peace Park Museum in Hiroshima.

It is a magic island where I would spend at least a couple of full days by sleeping in an authentic hotel with futon beds. If you can, i recommend to do the hiking of the main mountain (not difficult at all)

If you are an elderly Japanese teetotaller who likes simple food, an onsen and beautiful views this is the place for you!
If however, you also like your hotel to be multi generational, with a nice bar, good food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely not the hotel for you.

We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. We took one whole day climbing the mountain, which was great but time consuming, so we ended up not seeing everything on our list. Keep in mind that the restaurants and bars close by 7 or 8 pm because all of the tourists leave the island around 5:30 pm. You really get to enjoy the beautiful island in peace and quiet in the morning and evening before the boats of tourists arrive. It was our favorite place we visited in Japan!

Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape!
Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape! Friendly, professional staff assisted us to get settled, offering umbrellas for the rain, assistance on getting around the Island, etc. The hotel even offers Onsen clothing and many other amenities for their guests! The hotel is conveniently located just steps from the ferry dock and the main streets to see the Tori Gate or the Itsukushima Shrine, the aquarium, to get to the Ropeway, trinket stores, ice cream stations, and so on. Our ocean room view had 2 oversized very comfy twin beds, a small couch, & desk. Loved the Toto Washlet in the toilet room! The bathtub while small was perfect for soaking after 5 hours of hiking. Lots of soft water and water pressure. The onsen (public bath) was just pure Heaven! :-) Sitting in the enclosed area in back of the hotel is just more of the escape and so worthwhile! :-)
Thankfully there was food available in the hotel (bakery, dinner, breakfast) because ALL food service in town STOPS AT 4:30pm! At least, it did while we were there. Our breakfast with Miyajima Villa was wonderful and very filling whether Japanese or American food.
High caution is advised if you plan to hike from the Ropeway, as we did. Trails are not well marked on all trails. However, the trail to the top of Mt Misen is well worthwhile! Hopefully, you are as fortunate as we were to see the Tori Gate at high & low tides as well as catching it at sunset, which brought out MANY PEOPLE. :-) :-) What a perfectly lovely island to spend some adventure time!
All I can say is Thank You to the staff and management. On our honeymoon this hotel stands out - from arrival the staff made us feel special, the room was beautiful (upgraded on checkin), dinner was delicious with an awesome breakfast. When we arrived, Miyajima was bustling with tourists but by late afternoon this changed - we wondered around late at night to be greeted by deer roaming the streets. If you are visiting Miyajima, we would highly recommend a stay here. The onsen has a great view of Hiroshima Bay, great to watch sunset in.
The hotel itself gives is beautifully designed and gives off a traditional ryokan vibe. The location is perfect and is a great option for those who plan to stay a night. They also provide yukatas and sandals for use around the island.
The onsen bath was also very pleasant and I was lucky enough to receive a free room upgrade. Would definitely visit again.
The view from my sea-facing room...gorgeous! Clean spacious room with all the generous amenities.
I love the hotel onsen...clean and not crowded at all during the separate day/time I visited.
The shuttle bus provided is definitely helpful.
Tho Aki Grand Hotel is definitely far from Hiroshima major sightseeing spots, it's perfect for Miyajima daytrip.
Sakuraya is perfectly located - just minutes from the iconic Torii. The hotel is an easy walk from the ferry and close to many restaurants and attractions. This was my second visit to Miyajima and my second stay at Sakuraya. It’s small, cozy, immaculately clean and the service is excellent. It also has an easy to use washer and dryer on site.
What a wonderful hotel! The staff were so attentive and friendly. Beach out front and plenty of nice spots to sit and watch the boats and the cheeky deer 😀
Breakfast and dinner were absolutely superb, the best food we've eaten during our trip. Fantastic facilities and a magical.island. We will definitely return to Miyajima Seaside Hotel!
Big nice traditional feeling room. The room has more space than what one knows what to do with. The hotel also has a public bath.
If a big traditional room with futons is what you are looking for then this hotel delivers!
We only stayed for one night, and this is a nice hotel at Miyajima and for us it did not need anything extra.
We were late for the check-in but Yo waited for us and was very welcoming and amicable. He recommended us spots to visit on Miyajima island and gave us the ferry timetable. The bedroom was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. Yo even had toothbrushes for us. Wonderful host.
Staff were outstanding, very traditional hotel experience. Dinner was exceptional. Location was amazing, out of town (but very efficient and free short bus shuttle to town) so peaceful and beautiful - water and deer views. Perfection! Also very accommodating for vegetarian meals.
Location, meals, the customer service - everything at this ryokan is simply delightful. They offer a pick up service from the ferry. Even dropped off our luggage at the ferry terminal at a designated time as we wanted to explore the island beforehand. A wonderful place to stay.
I highly recommend staying here if you can make the time to stay in Miyajima. This was the most relaxing part of our two week trip. The food was incredible and the staff was so kind and helpful. It is a really beautiful hotel
The hotel has probably the best location on the island overlooking the town, the torii gate and the Sakura tree. We couldn’t stop looking outside the window while drinking tea 😊
Dinner and service were also great
Traditional Ryokan but with some English translations for the Keiseki meal. Perfect onsen with indoor and outdoor baths. Great location - quiet but close to the main streets. Friendly staff. Comfy futons.
This is an old traditional hotel with public bath, the place is a little bit remote but very peaceful.
The staff is welcoming, smilling and helpfull.
I have had a great stay in Miyajima .
Excellent ryokan hotel. The meals at the property were traditional Japanese meals. The meal quality was excellent. The public bath is amazing. Very convenient location
This was the second occasion I visited Miyajima island and stayed in this hotel. Everything is clean and comfortable. Staff is super nice. I am always sad to leave.
