The overall vibe and concept is superb, a surprisingly hip hotel in Iceland. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I loved the design and features of our room. It was clean, spacious and very cozy and comfortable. Location is fairly convenient, with parking just outside and a supermarket nearby. The food hall and shop on the ground floor were great too. There was a lot of varieties and they were delicious!

It was a nice place and we enjoyed a lot the spa and the sauna. It was a nice way to end our vacation in Iceland. The food was okay, but nothing special.

The apartment is very well equipped. Owners were helpful and quick in communication. They really provide everything you need. The place is very cosy and comfy. Really good location for the golden circle sights but Skogar and Vík are not too far either. The town also has everything that you may need (grocery store, restaurants etc.).
Iceland is wonderful but if Iceland's weather forces you to stay in for a morning or afternoon (and it will), you will be happy you booked this place.

Really spacious apartment with a well-equipped kitchen. It made for a very comfortable stay.
Location was also really nice, only a short drive from Selfoss. There is a Bonus nearby for groceries. If you want something different to eat, just downstairs is a restaurant and down the street is The Greenhouse.
Communication with the hosts was very responsive.

Hveragerdi is like the story of Goldilocks - not too far...
Hveragerdi is like the story of Goldilocks - not too far away from the major cities and airport in KEF / Reykjavik. Not too remote nor too busy. Plenty of dining options and bars and yet not crowded. Not too quiet nor too bright with city lights. Almost the perfect spot if you want to explore anything in Thingvellir National Park. And, close enough to some easily accessible spots if you are hunting for the elusive Northern Lights.
Reasons to stay at Hveragerdi: 1) You just landed in Iceland and don't want to drive too far fighting jet lag. (2) You want to have a base for exploring Thingvellir / Golden Circle (3) You want to step away from the busy Reykjavik and also have options for restaurants, bars and bakeries (4) You want to stay at a spot not too far from KEF airport to catch a flight the next day
Reasons not to stay at Hvergerdi: (1) Your main points of interest are farther south and southeast Iceland (Vik / Jokulsarlon / Hofn) or farther west and north Iceland (Snaefellsness / Western fjords / Akureyri)

A great base to explore South West Iceland, the Golden Circle, and other sights. The little town is easily walkable. We ate at Matkráin which was recommended in the information pack at our accommodation and were not disappointed by the Danish smørrebrød. We also tried The Greenhouse which had a really good atmosphere and is set up as a food hall.

The location is good at the beginning of South Iceland.
The location is good at the beginning of South Iceland. Everything we wanted to see was within 1h 40min drive. Still the small town has a big shop and the basic services that smaller places further out don't have (except Selfoss)

This location was truly magical.
This location was truly magical. It was quiet but close enough to amenities. The walks around our hotel were beautiful, including the walk to the village. Nearby you can do the mega zipwire and the hike to the hot river. We really enjoyed both of these activities. The town of Selfoss is busier and has some great restaurants, it's around 10 minute drive. We also visited the Lava Tunnel which is about 15 minutes away. However, this was pricey for what it was. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of money as Iceland is expensive.

Great place to visit.
Great place to visit. Excellent hike to hot springs and geo thermal river for bathing - wasn't spoilt by being busy.
Are out one night at the pizza and brewery in town which was reasonably priced, delicious pizza and lively atmosphere.
This was my favorite stay in Iceland. I booked the horseback riding tour that is offered through the hotel and had a wonderful time. We left our luggage at the hotel and walked to town (about a mile away) for lunch and hiking nearby. We came back and crashed around 4 but woke up a few hours later and decided to take a night walk. We went outside and happened to catch the Northern lights! Every employee was so gracious and helpful throughout the entire stay, and the hotel had a quiet and relaxing vibe. We would absolutely stay here again!
Love the greenhouse design and multipurpose concept, with hotel rooms on higher floors and food hall on the main level
Room was clean and comfortable
Front desk staff was helpful
Lots of food hall options (traditional Icelandic, bar food, tacos, stir fry, etc.) and a great ice cream shop
Third floor deck is perfect for viewing the northern lights
This is not a regular hotel. The first floor has a food court with 5 or so food vendors, all unique and were very popular. Lots of locals stopped in for dinner. There is a lovely shop with clothes, lotions etc. Very different concept, but it was fun. Has a rooftop bar. The room was basic but comfortable.
Lovely hotel, we were in room 11 which was perfect for us to access the hot pool as it was right outside our room.
we even got to see the Northern lights when in the hot pool at night.
Hot tubs and sauna were nice too.
breakfast was basic but nice
the steam room and the pool was amazing! the staff was very friendly and they woke you up when the northern lights came out. the facilities and bar were very nice. because of the work on the hotel they upgraded us to a nicer room for free.
owner faced an overbooking challeng and provided an instant alternative in a nearby costly hotel. a great room waited for us without need to add more payment.
thank you for true quality service especialy in the face of such a challenge
It was a pleasant surprise, an excellent hotel that we recommend.
The hotel restaurant presented a dinner at the highest level. Nice to see Portuguese wines on the menu.
A good breakfast with plenty of variety and quality.
Wonderful lady that runs the place. She meet us at the door, checked us in and talked to us for a while about the best times to see the northern lights. Wonderful small cottage without the big hotel experience.
Conveniently located to nearby attractions. Staff was very friendly, they notified all people in the restaurant and lobby when the northern light was visible just outside the hotel. Clean room, nice hot tub.
Very comfortable, cozy Appartement. All kinds of extras in the Appartement and well equipped with eye for detail
Hot tub and steam bath are working perfectly fine.
City centre is nice and close by
Clean and nice place in Hveragerdi near Reykjadalur Hot Springs. We didn't see anyone from the staff but everything worked out well. Parking by the entrance, keys and door code as instructed.
Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast at the Eldhestar Hotel close by. Perfect place to stay when we were going on a riding tour 9 am. The stable and horses were just out the front door.
I liked that there is a pool at the Hotel.
The play room is also a very good idea.
Very clean rooms. A room for a family of 5 was delightful.
All in all a pleasant stay.
Frost and Fire is in a beautiful spot, with much to do during the day. The hotel setting is gorgeous; the River view from natural hot tubs is absolutely amazing.
Such a cool vibe in the hotel. Loved the decor, the food hall, the glass walls letting you enjoy the beauty outside. Nicest bartender! Comfortable room.
