We used the map (1.50 euro) from the Strasbourg Tourist Office to do our own self-guided tour of the old town in the morning then did a 1h15 Batorama river cruise in an open-topped riverboat in the afternoon which was well worth the money (15.75 euro per person). You need to allow plenty of time to view the Strasbourg Cathedral of Notre-Dame both inside and out - the Astronomical Clock inside is a must see!

Strasbourg is clean, pedestrian friendly, with easy access to trains, buses and trams. We found it a bit confusing figuring out the transit system at first, but once done, they are great. We highly recommend the Modern Art Museum (and their cafe is lovely) and a visit to the European Parliament. The architecture in both is amazing.

We enjoyed seeing the city and walking the streets.
We enjoyed seeing the city and walking the streets. The atmosphere was very positive and joyful. You could buy interesting souvenirs. The food was variable and delicious. Lot of sweats and cakes everywhere. The sellers and staffs of sale centers tried to talk on English and it was very good since my french ability is weak. The public transportation was great. It could also be a tourist attraction.

Magical place wandering around Le petite france area.
Magical place wandering around Le petite france area. Highly recommend the tourist trains (there are two) which both go from either side of the cathedral. 45 mins each circuit. Informative and interesting. Do the one through Le Petite France first as it’s the best. The second one takes you more around the city through university area and past historical german/nazi areas. Make sure to wandering around Le Petite France on foot also though esp around the lock area by the tanners house.
The hotel is located very closely to the European institutions located in Strasbourg. The main train station can be reached with the bus (in about 20 minutes). The city centre can be reached by bus or on foot as well (in about 30 minutes). The hotel is located closely to the Orangerie park. The location was quiet despite the proximity of the street.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was possible to use Wifi provided by the hotel without any difficulties.
The breakfast was served duly in previously arranged time.
The "pavilion" part of the Regence hotel is actually across the street from the main hotel in a converted medieval building, so it's more like staying in a small inn than a grand hotel. But it's very modern, clean, and accessible, and the view are spectacular. We were right on the canal in the heart of Petite France, and the room was spotless. The bathroom was especially nice, with a large shower and double sinks. It's not an inexpensive place to stay, but it's very memorable and wor the money.
The room was very clean and stylish, and in a great location - only a short walk down to some great bars, bakeries and shops, and a lovely walk to Petite France. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. They happily turned on the sauna outside of the regular times for us, which is a great facility of the hotel, super luxurious and clean! The bathroom was also very clean and I loved the shower, and fluffy robes are always a plus! I would definitely stay at Hotel D again.
The Hotel Gutenberg was a wonderful hotel, just as expected from the booking. It was perfectly located to walk around the old town, and Petite France. The hotel staff was very helpful and very friendly! Although small, the room was nicely appointed and had everything we needed. Loved the breakfast! This is a compact hotel, but what more does one need beside a clean, comfortable room, great staff members, and a perfect location!
Everything. I would travel from New Zealand to Strasbourg, France just to stay with these guys again. The room, the warmth of the staff, the breakfast, the atmosphere...everything outstriped all the hotels I've ever stayed in. You are so looked after and the kindness that they extend I can't put into words. Thank you and God bless 😇
Excellent hotel right in the heart of Strasbourg. Parking is available behind the hotel (drop your bags of first!) but is limited so best to reserve a space when booking. Very good breakfast with hot and cold food available. There's a very pleasant bar area. The staff are very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel.
Comfortable hotel in a convenient part of Strasbourg. I came to run the half-marathon, and it was a great location -- close to the start and the finish. Bathroom was modern with stand-up shower. My room was large and well laid out. Breakfast had quite the spread with attentive staff.
The room and the bathroom were clean. The location of the hotel is good for trips and it‘s possible to walk into the centre of Strasbourg within about half an hour. It was pretty quiet, especially during the night.
Strasbourg is a great city and restaurants aren‘t too expensive.
Good quality hotel with excellent value for money. in 3 minutes on foot you reach the tram stop B which after a few stops takes you directly to the centre. The same tram goes to the Eu buildings, too. Strasbourg is beautiful, I recommend at least 2 nights to visit it.
Beautiful hotel in the center of Strasbourg little France, walking distance from everything you want to see, you upgraded our room to the junior suite, and it was big and charming, lovely room. The spa was excellnet.
The hotel is fantastically located in the old city centre of Strasbourg. The staff is very friendly. The lobby is how a lobby should be, comfortable and atmospheric. The rooms are great. The breakfast is amazing.
Nice hotel in Strasbourg in case you are on budget or traveling by car. It’s 10-15 min from city centre by tram depending on what’s your desired location. Parking was for free which is a huge plus.
Great location across from the train station. Yet so close to Petite France. All cafes & restaurants. Lovely ambiance. Super comfortable bed and good sized room. Staff we so helpful & lovely.
The hotel was well located for us, we had a car to park and the hotel provided free parking. We were a 20min commute in public transport from the centre of Strasbourg, and about 35min walk.
It's a great hotel, well located for exploring Strasbourg, visiting friends or business. Clean, located near a tram stop, within walking distance of the city centre. What more do you need?
Breakfast was lovely, the most comfortable bed and very big and nice bathroom. One of the best hotels i've ever been to. Near train station, near Petite France in Strasbourg. Great stay!
A good place for tourists
Close to the train/ter/tram/tgv stations
Also close to most of the famous places in strasbourg like petite france and cathedral / marché de Noël
