A small, quiet resort without being stuffy. There are lots of good restaurants and there are so many seafood options. We can spend our time freely. Recommended for those who want to spend a relaxing time or walking, hiking as there are rare sightseeing place. It is a favorite town that I like to visit every few years.

Nice uncrowded beach getaway.
Nice uncrowded beach getaway. Good place to base out of as its close to Biarritz and San Sebastien. After visiting most of the Basque Coast St. Jean de Luz was nice place to come back to as it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The town had very nice shops and an attractive square with dining all around.

I have stayed here before which is why I chose to stay here...
I have stayed here before which is why I chose to stay here this time. the hotel is immaculatly clean, has plenty of free parking onsite and is pet friendly, although that was not a requirement for me on this trip.
The gentleman on the reception was friendly and helpful, My limited French was matched by his limited English but we managed to understand eachother with good humour thrown in.
The hotel offers a modest selection of choices for breakfast and is perfectly adequate for most peoples needs, if you need snacks there is a vending machine in the foyer that has hot & cold drinks as well as sweets, biscuits and crisps. My room was very clean and comfortable, it had plenty of wall sockets for using or charging electricals, my only small criticism would be that the lighting was a little dim which made some tasks a little difficult that required more light but this should not really impact on most guests. The hotel although close to a busy road did not suffer from any road noise at all, the bed and bedding was comfortable and warm, the room had an AC and inverter unit but it was not necessary for me to use it so cannot comment on how good it is. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and I would always choose to use it whenever Im passing through on this route, it offers very good value for money in my opinion

Amazing hotel in a perfect location in the charming town of St Jean de Luz. We had three rooms for our large family and everyone had a beautiful room with ocean views. The rooms were impeccably cleaned every day with fresh Nespresso coffee, waters and treats. The restaurant dinner was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful when we asked to change one room type due to a booking error on my part. Two members of our party were in their 80s and the hotel and location were perfect for their mobility challenges.
We were a bit worried that the host was not immediately available when we arrived. But once He arrived he was very friendly and really helpful in directing us to local restaurants suitable for vegetarians.
The house was beautiful and the bedroom full of lovely furniture and window covers. We did have access to the lounge and kitchen but after 7.5 hour drive and a 6 hour drive for the following day we just needed to sleep. Beautiful beach nearby where we ate breakfastfrom a nearby patisserie.
Small, cosy and very well kept
hotel located a couple of minutes in one direction from the beautiful clean beach and a couple of
minutes in the other direction from the lovely old town of St Jean de Luz. Breakfast on our terrace was delightful and excellent quality. Madame Claudette is so kind and helpful and will do everything to make your stay a good one. Towels, coffee, biscuits etc all replaced every day, and a comfortable bed. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return!
This boutique hotel was perfectly located in the heart of St. Jean-de-Luz, a thoroughly captivating fishing town. While some distance from the train station, we easily covered the distance on foot. A two minute walk into the town square; even less in the other direction to the beach. November is the perfect time to visit this town. The room was very comfortable.
Claudette is a wonderful hostess who made our stay the best.
A superb hotel & the best possible start to our 3-week holiday to the Pyrenees. Friendly & helpful reception staff, spotlessly clean room, plenty of easy car parking spaces and, best of all, a lovely coastline just up a little road nearby. Free parking spot up at top of road & walked to excellent beaches & little bars serving excellent suppers.
I loved the casual friendliness of this place. It was perfect for me as a solo traveler to have the privacy of a tent on my own, and a communal lounge and kitchen area to socialize if I wanted to. My tent was comfy with a good mattress and I slept like a baby. The nearby beach is a stone’s throw away, and was gorgeous. I had a wonderful time.
Beautiful Place, very relaxing, charming atmosphere, good french breakfast. Parking is narrow but doable. Room with sea view is a good choice. Place is directly on the beach (30 seconds "walk") despite top location hotel stuff is very attentive and friendly and polite. Very clean and this high standard was kept every day during my week stay.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is like stepping back into the past, into a historical mansion. The bathroom in the bedroom was as big as the bedroom itself. Beautiful decor. Friendly staff, and free tea and coffee facilities in the lobby. Walking distance to the beach, and far enough away from the hubbub for a nice night's sleep.
hotel donibane is in an industrial area of St Jean de Luz but is very tranquil and quiet with beautiful gardens. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and the food is excellent and caters for vegetarians! about 20 minutes walk from the lovely Erromadie beach
we loved the location and the ambiance of the hotel. The room was huge and clean and the bathroom was nice. The owner/staff were extremely friendly. I would recommend this place if you aren’t looking for a swanky hotel and want to be close to the beach.
Lovely, lovely room, great bath. Hotel is nicer than it might appear. Not far from the beach, but a quote neighborhood. Tom, at the front desk made me feel welcomed
I had a gorgeous room with a balcony and views out over the beach and sea. The renovated hotel is gorgeous and very stylish. Plenty of space and bespoke finishes!
Friendly well located hotel near train, coach stations, yet very short walk to centre of the town. Good breakfast. Good value for a holiday focussed town.
