The staff was very kind, as expected from a family owned ryokan. The bath area is small, but you schedule your personal bath time. Food is incredible, a must try when visiting Zao. Location is near the main attractions, like the cable car is reachable by walking. Lots of nearby onsens.

Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya har naturlige varme kilder og ligger 15 minutters gang fra JR Tendo Station og 50 km fra Sendai. Der er gratis wi-fi overalt og gratis privat parkering på stedet. Dinner and breakfast exceeded expectations. Everyone was so helpful and polite. The room and private onsen was amazing. It was a great way to relax.

Featuring free property-wide WiFi, a spa centre and a seasonal outdoor pool, Matsushima Ichinobo offers accommodation in Matsushima. Everything is amazing. It is expensive, but you get what you pay. I recommend staying for at least 2 nights. I stayed for only one night, and I think I could have enjoyed more (like the gardens and the free rental bike service) if I had more time. Having said that,I thoroughly enjoyed my bedroom, the lounge, restaurant, the baths. The free all you can eat ice cream in the lounge was also a positive surprise.

The hosts are very friendly and try to help all the time. Although it is sometimes not easy to communicate in English, but they tried their best to understand us and also express themselves. Actually with Google Translator there is no communication issues anymore. My room is the one with private bathroom but still I can use the big bath outside the room, which is very comfortable. The dinner and breakfast are wonderful!! I would be very happy to stay here next time if I visit this city again.

Tamonkan ligger i en historisk japansk bygning omgivet af hellige bjerge og uberørt natur. Der serveres gratis te og snacks. Dewa Shrine ligger 8 minutters gang derfra. Der er gratis WiFi overalt. What a great find this place was. A very traditional Japanese guest house with ultra friendly and accommodating hosts. This property has been in their family for generations and they go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent and there was an English explanation for each dish served 😊. A big bonus is the short walk to the stairs to climb Mt Haguro. (Not that that makes the stairs any easier!) We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here!

Miyamaso Takamiya ligger mindre end 10 minutters gang fra svævebanen Zao Sky og har 9 naturlige varme kilder. Ejendommens trækonstruktion er en blanding af traditionel japansk indkvartering. Everything is perfect! The amazing experience was starting from the transportation service. Then the check-in and dinner services, everything feels perfect! I can feel the staffs are all proud of this Hotel and its history and spirit. Thanks for Takamiya gave us such warm experience!

Shikitei Morioka TsunagiOnsen ligger 7 minutters gang fra Gosho-søen og tilbyder gratis wi-fi samt indendørs og udendørs varme kilder. Togstationen JR Morioka ligger 25 minutters kørsel fra... Absolutely wonderful! It was our first time at a ryokan and it exceeded our expectations by a wide margin. The tatami room was fantastic, the atmosphere making you never want to leave. The outdoors onsen was soo relaxing, and open 24/7 so there was no problem having your evening- midnight and early morning bath! We did not have the dinner experience, but the breakfast was absolutely spectacular. Local, seasonal cuisine that tasted divine, set up in a traditional Japanese room. Staff was very helpful, even though they spoke rather limited English, and a shuttle bus picked us up and left us at the bus stop. If you're around Morioka, definitely give this place a visit!

Oyado Morinone ligger i Kaminoyama, 17 km fra skisportsstedet Zao Onsen, og tilbyder indkvartering med sauna, varmt kildebad og offentligt bad. Denne feriebolig har balkon med udsigt til haven. This was the most elegant and restful stay of my life. Food is incredible - deserves a bib gourmand! Rooms are large and comfortable with a view. Onsen is lovely. The best is the free alcohol and hot drink service in the evenings around the fireplace. Definitely stay here if you can! It’s once in a lifetime type stuff
