Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyFantastic view of the mountain from the pool. The services were top notch, and the massage we had from the spa was really needed after a long day hanging around beautiful Mai Chau. Our room was very beautiful. Parking space was large. Staff were super nice. Dinner was also great. All in all, highly recommend!

AustraliaBurning off in the valley almost smoked us out for an hour in the afternoon 😆, uncontrollable by the property though.
Loved the seclusion and the pool was massive, clean and staff very friendly. Not overpriced. Best Vietnamese salads we’ve had all trip, both the chicken and beef salads were fabulous. Short bike ride up behind the property to the local village was super interesting (bit touristy but still great).

CanadaWhile this wasn’t a huge issue, we would have loved if the rooms had a bigger bottle of complimentary water. Small bottles were provided but the nearest shop was quite far away. Water was available for purchase on the property but it was quite expensive.
Stunning views made our stay very memorable, but it was the kindness of the staff that left us raving about this hotel. They organized scooters for us, secured additional masseuses for our group so we could all have a massage at the same time, and they booked transport for us to our next location. We loved the cultural dance the staff shared with us! The pool area is beautiful, we spent a long time enjoying the views. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, we had a great sleep. Everyone in our group loved their stay and are greatly looking forward to returning to stay again one day!

FranceI'm not sure what you would do if it rained a lot during your stay as it is really rural but I suppose, like in most parts of Vietnam you could probably rent a driver for the day to take you to visit surrounding areas. We didn't get the chance to go to Pu Long but I believe it's just over an hour away from Mai Chau.
Great hotel out in the peaceful, calm countryside of Mai Chau. We arrived by shuttle bus from Hanoi ($50 round trip for 2). It is a lovely hotel with a great pool overlooking the mountains of Mai Chau. There is a wonderful little restaurant in the hotel, open for lunch and dinner. It's a great place to relax. Being in the countryside you can rent bikes and cycle or walk through the local villages and buy some of the local scarves, table runners, tablecloths woven by the locals - wonderful experience. The staff were very helpful and even performed local dances in front of the hotel on the Saturday evening. We ate lunch at the 3 sisters restaurant in Mai Chau - real Vietnamese cuisine in an authentic setting.

Germany- Breakfast is a bit simple. more „continental“ options would be appropriate in light of the price - Spa area is out of order - Restaurant is rather expensive (vietnamese benchmark)
Relatively quiet place. Very friendly staff. It is really a good place to relax.

United KingdomNothing to note on the structure.
Very nice breakfast with good selection and very helpful staff. Note you essentially need dinner in the hotel too. We stayed in a little bungalow which was really nice and spacious. The resort in itself is great - Mai Chau in itself was a little bit less than we expected. Nice evening show with folklore dancing and singing.

AustraliaUnfortunately, our stay was ruined by a large family of 30+ people who kept us up all night with loud music, shouting and blasting there TVs (until 4:30am). They also made it impossible make use of the dining and communal facilities as they were being very disrespectful of other guests. This is not at all the hotels fault, however maybe some rules could be put in place that prohibit people from yelling up and down the halls all night.
Staff were wonderful, room was comfortable and clean, location was stunning

IsraelThe shower head was not working properly because of kalk, but the staff was really quick to fix our shower head and clean after themselves. As for the location, it is written on the website that it has a mountain view, yet the mountain view is on the other side. The windows and balconies face a brown hill instead. Also I don’t think you really get value for money, it’s a bit on the pricey end for what you get.
As they say, Vietnamese people are kind, honest and hard working people and this is exactly true with the staff here. Especially ms Trang who was kind and helped us get anything we needed.

VietnamThe breakfast was the same everyday, I had hoped they would have different choices each day.
This hotel has possible one of the best mountain views in all of Mai Chau, I was completely astonished by what it looked like when I set foot at the location.

FranceThe bathroom didn't have enough racks to hang towels and clothes. The supposed relaxing music was on 24h/24h, this could disturb customers' sleep, as rooms' soundproofing was not very good. On our second day, some noises as in a kind of renovation work wake us up even before 7 am.
Breakfast was fine. Customers have the choice between 3 types: Vietnamese/American/Continental. There was no buffet. For the Vietnamese dish "banh cuon", adding some fried onions as topping would give more taste. The location is good, slightly away from the center of Ban Laac (this latter could be rather noisy). The staff was extremely nice: they took notice that it was my son's birthday on our first day and offered a birthday cake. A special thanks to the 2 receptionnists Hieu and Nham.
