Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

DenmarkThe number of signs, emails, peppers you had to sign, and staff telling you all forbidding some behavior, made it less retreat like. I can I imagine, they have had problems with each but one rotten egg shouldn’t spoil it for all. The block with rooms are bog standard and doesn’t fit into the landscape. It’s not good value for money but probably still one of the most modern and clean places around this area.
In the middle of nowhere. But with everything you need. Kitchen was the best appointed on our trio, Though we didn’t use much. Good out door spaces.

The experience and adventure, Hidden Canyon is a hidden canyon, complete with a babbling creek, trees, wildlife greeting and farewell. Eileen greeted us on arrival, answered all our questions and was very helpful throughout our stay.

United States of AmericaThis place is sooooo wonderful! It's literally hidden in a beautiful canyon with wildlife, and it is very peaceful. The rooms are spacious and bed was comfy. They even provided us with a pack and play, with a mattress, mattress cover, sheets and blanket for our toddler! The kitchenette is stocked with all the things you need to cook meals, even kids bowls/plates/utensils/cups, which was a big plus for us. The market is stocked really well and their local meat products are delicious! Really enjoyed our stay.

United States of AmericaClean, accommodating, friendly… I would give it 10/10 except for the following issue: The primary purpose for my visit was stargazing (very common amongst Great Basin tourists), but, because an Ivy League College was visiting that same weekend, the lights in the main visitor building/dining/conference area were on all night, effectively ruining all dark-sky viewing.

United States of AmericaThe wifi could have been a bit better, but it is understandable, considering the remote location. If you are staying here, remember you will not have fast internet. So come expecting that.
The location was remote, peaceful, and relaxing. The rooms and beds were comfortable, very clean, and had all the amenities. The kitchenette was well supplied, and there was a coffee maker with several quality coffee options, a toaster, a small oven, a hot plate, a microwave, and a mini-refrigerator. Also, had pots, pans, and dinnerware to prepare your own food. Since this is a remote stay, you could bring your own food and cook meals. The owner was really nice in communicating and accommodating. They have a small grocery/market with some food supplies. For each day, you are given breakfast tokens, which can be exchanged for a breakfast sack or other food from the market for the value of the token. The breakfast sacks are supplied with an assortment of foods like boiled eggs/cheese/yogurt/fruit/nuts/muffins etc. It was really helpful to have when we went hiking at the Great Basin National Park (30-40 min drive from the lodging). We were late on the day we arrived (the office is open from 3-9 PM), and the owner was really kind with accommodating our check-in via phone, and delivered the breakfast sacks for the following morning before we even got there. The gravel road leading to the lodging is quite good, although not paved. The owner provided clear directions to reach the location as well as other tips as to places to get Gas/food etc. We stayed here to view the annular solar eclipse (10-14-23). We had a great view of the eclipse from the patio area in front of our rooms. This location is also part of a ranch, so there were lots of apple trees, and we saw a deer family. There's also a stream passing by, adding to the relaxing environment. Overall, it's such a great place to relax and stay, especially if you are visiting Great Basin National Park.

United States of AmericaWhile we enjoyed our stay very much the rooms will need redecoration in the near future. They are getting a little dated. Lighting is poor. The hot tub hygiene needs some attention. There was a distinct scum line around the waterline. Also, one set of jets seemed to be inoperative when we used it. It is worth noting that the Retreat is at the end of a 7-mile good quality dirt road. While the road is in great condition, your car is going to get a major dust bath. Make sure all doors and windows are well sealed.
A quiet and beautiful oasis. In order to better appreciate the offerings here you must understand that: 1: Accommodation options in Baker are extremely limited and rudimentary. 2: Restaurant options are very limited. The Hidden Canyon Retreat makes up for these inadequacies very nicely. First, the rooms are large quiet, clean and comfortable with full bathrooms. They are set in a green "Hidden Canyon" making it a good "retreat" from the desert floor. Deer and Wild Turkeys wander about the grounds that feature an apple orchard. Fruit was in season during our stay adding a nice touch. The place is geared to preparing your own food. The rooms have kitchenettes with an induction stovetop, a convection oven and a microwave to prepare your own meals. More importantly, the office has a well-stocked shop with a variety of food options. The office store IS BETTER STOCKED THAN the general store in Baker. There is also a hot tub and pool (closed for the season during our stay).

Wow. What a nice place to spend some quiet time. This is much more than just someplace to spend the night. Hands down, the best place to stay close to Great Basin National Park. We will definitely come back here. Loved watching the deer hang out outside our room

United States of AmericaThere was nothing we disliked, it was perfect!
Driving down a six mile gravel desert road you suddenly descend into a canyon with beautiful Hidden Canyon Retreat at the end with it’s lush green surroundings deep in a secluded canyon with deer and wild turkeys welcoming you! We stayed in a modern king bed hotel room that was like a very nice small studio apartment with everything we needed to make our own meals and enjoy the retreat. This is the BEST accommodation anywhere near Great Basin National Park. There are barbecue grills, a small store at the office with local meat to grill plus a hot tub which is great after a day of hiking. We really liked getting breakfast tokens to spend on food at the store…fruit, cereal, frozen egg sandwiches, yogurt, etc. A beautiful starry dark night sky was a perfect ending to our days there.

Our 3 night stay was lovely. We were surprised how well equipped our room was. The kitchen even had a hot plate. The outside pool was refreshing-well stocked with pool toys. The staff was outstanding. Cristina took care of us like family. The grounds were lush with deer wandering all over. Would definitely go back again.
