Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaRoom was on the small side. Bathroom looked a bit worn. Breakfast was included but it wasn’t at the hotel, had to walk uphill to the restaurant area of the tourist village to a designated restaurant. Breakfast was just ok.
Very nice staff. Bed was comfortable. Location was good, in the hotel district of the tourist village inside the National Park. Free shuttle to the bus terminal. Good value.

FranceWe felt the staff was being rude with us for checkin and checkout, thus we didn’t really feel welcomed. The isolation is really bad, we could hear everything happening outside the room even with closed windows but also in the corridor even with our door closed. Also the heater made a lot of noise so it wasn’t the best condition.
Great location to see the sunrise at Zhushan. The room was spacious for 4. The beds were comfortables.

South AfricaSome of the furniture (the chairs) didn't seem very trustworthy. The bed was a bit on the shorter end, to be kept in mind for tall people
Excellent location next to the Alishan Park area. The receptionist was very helpful. The bed was comfy, and one felt safe as female solo traveller

MalaysiaDespite its advantages, the hotel’s pricing felt steep considering the amenities provided. The absence of an elevator was a notable inconvenience, particularly after long days spent exploring the city. Furthermore, the customer service left much to be desired; the staff often seemed distracted by their phones, even during our interactions. Lastly, the room’s size was disappointing, feeling cramped and limited in space.
The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a short walk from the train station, which greatly simplified my daily travels. Additionally, the area is wonderfully quiet, providing a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Moreover, having convenience stores nearby added a layer of ease to my stay, ensuring that necessities were always within reach.

South AfricaThe rooms were very very small. There is no divider between the shower and the rest of the bathroom - typical of older Taiwanese bathroom arrangement, but this meant that many things got wet after showering.
Very comfortable bed and within the Alishan Park at an affordable price. The option of a water filling station

United KingdomNice location not far from the train station and the start of the walking trails for Alishan. The rooms are small but have everything you need. Considering the location, it was good value for money. We took the sunrise tour which we booked at the hotel and it was definitely worth it.

MalaysiaThey provide hot shower at certain times only.
Cheapest stay compared to others in Alishan National Park, breakfast was a bit far from the hotel (had to walk) but it tastes good. They provide pickup and drop off from Alishan Transfer Station so you don't have to walk all the way to the hotel bcs its quite far. If you are planning to watch sunrise at Alishan, this can be a good option as it is just walking distance to the Alishan train station. The hotel also offered sunset tour, stargazing and sunrise tour (refundable).

MalaysiaThere was an electricity shortage due to heavy rain in the middle of the night, luckily the hotel has a generator to temporarily solve the problem.
The staff are very helpful and welcoming. They have organized tours for guests and are willing to refund if it didn't meet the expectations. Besides that, the bed is very comfortable for me but the room for my parents is rather small although we have no choice to take that because the hotel was fully booked.
