I personally don’t like the translucent glass-bathroom-within-the-room approach. Not very private.

This is a lovely place to stay in Ribeira Grande. The rooms are small but well designed. The bad and bedding are comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious.

This little paradise should not be skipped. The house is gorgeous, the staff is absolutely amazing, the rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the pool is at perfect temperature. Oh, and the breakfast! Fresh, ampel, and delicious.

2 things - the warm breakfast buffet was never really warm; the pool needs 2 people to cover/uncover it, it used also way too many chemicals to treat the water.

we enjoyed our time there very much due to the very helpful and pleasant staff. the breakfasts we had were beyond delicious. while we did not spend a great deal of time in ribeira grande specifically the location was the perfect starting point for our daily excursions. highly recommend the volcanic charming house. special thanks to all the staff, .bob and mania

Not the hotels fault but there is a dog nearby that barked all the time.

The staff were so friendly and helpful! The shared kitchen was great! Breakfast nice, pool was warm, parking and location was good. Bought a cute local items souvenir box. Towels for hot spring use! View from room, ac, and comfortable bed! Meeting and talking with others people staying. Early check in! Loved our stay here!

No complaints or concerns, what so ever.

The Reception Team is extraordinary. They were kind and extremely welcoming . They provided a detailed tour of the Inn and shared what sites to explore and how to get there. Parking is free and is located beside the Inn. The property has a lovely pool and garden and a fully stocked kitchen for guests to access. The Inn is very clean and comfortable and the WIFI was great. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The Ladies who coordinate the Breakfast were wonderful and do an amazing job. The breakfasts were well presented offering a variety of items and the food was always delicious. The Inn offers Wine and other tasty treats that you can purchase and enjoy after a long day exploring the Island.

The breakfast was a bit disappointing. Perhaps it was because we came "off season" but it was not as luxurious as it was looking from the photos. The automatic coffee machine is not really good. They do have a nice Nespresso (I think) machine in the kitchen but we did not have pods to use it. Perhaps it would be nice to offer it to people as well as fresh milk (not just the powder the machine is providing. Staff were not always available on reception, one day we needed to wait for 30 min before someone showed up and the numbers they left in the reception to call were not working.

The welcoming staff was amazing, was really knowable, kind and helpful. Gave us good tips. I loved the swimming pool, it is small but you can still swim in it, and the temperature were about 37 degrees (as I was told) - it 18 degrees outside and a bit windy but was still worth it to swim in the pool.

Volcanic Charming House is an incredible property!! Stop looking at other hotels and select this one!!The location is perfect. You’re 5 minute walk to a large grocery store, 10-15 minute walk from several beach side restaurants and several hot springs and hikes are a 10-15 minute drive. It’s great home base to explore!! The rooms were also very comfortable! The breakfast was delightful and very fulfilling. Their kitchen is super modern and has everything you could need. On top of their staff being the most friendly and helpful people ever. Can not say enough positive things about this property. Would definitely stay here again :)

There are very few outlets in the room

The friendliest staff in my life, especially Sofia 🧡 Taking care of the guests at the highest level, they have an amazing detailed brochure of the best locations of the island, useful services and even a list of recommended restaurants. This allowed us to fully enjoy the island and spend an unforgettable vacation in the Azores. A large double bed, a shared equipped kitchen where you can not only drink tea, but also prepare a full meal. The hotel provides variety of breakfasts with lots of fruits and delicious puddings. Wonderful view from the hotel, comfortable space on the ground floor, private parking. They also provide you with three towels: for bathroom, for pool, for hot springs

Smell of the room.

The entire team at the hotel was amazing! I travel often and a lot and I can say that this was definitely one of the most pleasant experiences in my travel memories. Compliments to the cooks who prepared a very tasty breakfast! We also really liked a shared kitchen, it felt like home. It's a shame I didn't get to try the pool.

WiFi was having problems with getting online, putting handsoap in the bathroom might improve the experience. We stayed before the New Year and in the breakfast premises it was a bit chilly.

Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. The breakfast, room and shared kitchen were great and all staff were so friendly and extremely helpful with suggestions for things to do or booking activities. A highlight was that the outdoor pool had just recently (1 week before) been upgraded and is now heated to 30C, so we enjoyed that very much!

The apartment could use more storage space or hangers for clothes and more hooks for hanging wet raincoats and towels. Also, it might be nice to have a couple of rugs in the living area.

VCH is a lovely property within walking distance of many shops, restaurants and sites in Ribeira Grande. The staff is incredible-kind, accommodating, and generous. We stayed in the 2-bedroom apartment which had enough space for our family of 4. Breakfasts were fantastic.
