Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Not big enough parking area, especially with trailers etc. But they were really friendly and accommodating in regards to that.

Good location to shops and restaurants. Room was cosy and comfortable. It had everything we needed for an overnight stay on our way to Wellington.

Pillows used to sleep on could be improved upon, current ones were too flat and another 1-2 standard size pillows would have been helpful.
Rooms were spacious and well appointed. The facilities were kept very clean while we were there and were spotless on arrival. The bed was comfortable with great support. Very good sound proofing, we were a little concerned that the noise from the road would keep us awake but we didn't hear a thing. Staff were friendly.

The room is beautifully decorated and appointed. The armchairs are fabulous, particularly as a footstool is provided. Everything was clean and the extra touches, like little packs of biscuits, were lovely.

Contactless check-in and check-out was a first for us, but communication on how to do that was great and very easy to follow. Loved our room and the decor, tasteful and clean. Had everything we needed and easy walking distance to town centre for eating out/supermarkets. Was quiet considering it was near the town centre and a Saturday night.

Staff attitude was great! Well set up room. Willingness to assist. Peace & quiet absolutely suited us, as did car/town accessibility. We would happily stay there again and will recommend Destiny on Fitzherbert whenever appropriate.

We came 12.30pm. Rang asked if we can store our suitcases as checkin not till 2pm. The manager said asked one of the cleaning ladies. She said we're leaving at 1pm ring and ask if he can just check you in. He said just put them in the conference room I'll be there 2pm. We did, I'm with my 7yr old, then walked over to the mall 5mins away to kill time. Got back 2pm. It's hot sitting outside waiting. 2.10pm rang the manger, sorry I'm on my way. 2.20pm arrives to property. Checks us in, I ask if we can have a late checkout. He pauses then goes 'ok I guess cause I was late checking you in'. Made me wonder if otherwise he would have said no. I read a previous comment that you are charged $15 if you want a early check in. Probably charged if you want a late check out usually. Requesting early and late check outs are part of hotel norms. They shouldn't be a big deal. We wouldn't come back here due to service.
