Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainSome parts in the room were a little outdated. For some reason the bathroom lock was pushed in when I arrived. So when I closed it I needed to use tweezers to get it open before I even used it. The hallway was quite noisy
Grand hotel with grandeur vibes. I felt very welcome and it is good value for money. Location is excellent in the centre with a pretty pool area overlooking the square. Breakfast was not included, but served in the café right next to it.

United States of AmericaThe Zocalo is under construction and the facilities could use a bit of maintenance. It was apparent to us that its heyday was a few decades ago (possibly 1980s/90s).
The location of the hotel is perfect and the room is fairly large. it was comfortable and most importantly, the ac worked! That's especially crucial during the hottest month in Veracruz, May.

MexicoOur floor was going thru some renovation and there was some dust on the hallway.
The hotel is very nice, although the last renovation probably was in the nineties. It was very clean and the location couldn´t be better.

United States of AmericaThe bathroom was old and we had issues with the pressure not being enough so the shower would shut off the first night they had to come up and fix the toilet. It is an older hotel and I knew that about it and it was clean.
It was right across the street from the Zocalo and Cathedral also right next-door was the Gran Cafe de la Parroquia where we ate breakfast and had the wonderful Veracruz coffee twice. A few blocks down you are at the Malecon. Liked thr mezzanine with a pool

GermanyBreakfast included but a bit simple. No fridge, water cooker or coffee making facilities in the 'superior' room. Smoking allowed in rooms. We had some issues with smoke seeping through the connecting door.
Nice staff. Good location. Spacious room. Clean. We got a late 2 pm check out for free and could leave the car parked until 4 pm. Pool is nice though no space for sunbathing or lounge chairs.

United States of AmericaThis is an older hotel but well maintained. The location is very central, just across the street from the zócalo. Many eating establishments are located right around the area. Taxis are plentiful, or the hotel can call one for you and they arrive in a covered area towards the back. My room was huge (I imagine that other rooms are similarly sized).

United States of AmericaThe restaurant in the lobby was overpriced and the food (seafood) was mediocre. Nobody in the hotel (at the desk or in the restaurant) spoke any English. I would book at an American hotel next time because I don't speak Spanish. The room was COLD and changing the thermostat setting did no good at all and I couldn't discuss it with anyone because of the language barrier. The street is very tacky and not attractive. A few blocks walk through similar but less busy streets brought me to the wharf/key which was nice. In general I would prefer a more upscale neighborhood.
The room was large, well furnished, and mostly quiet except for loud conversations in the hallway between maids. Plenty of light came into the room from the eastern window.

MexicoThe room was poorly lit. A ceiling light would have helped.
Good shower with lots of hot water. Comfortable beds and pillows. The room was spacious. It was quiet as it was located in the back, away from the street. Excellent location, next to zocalo and cathedral. Good breakfast.

United States of AmericaIt was awkward to get into the tub to shower, especially for 75-year-old. But there were grab bars . No bath mat, no glasses in the bathroom. I had to go downstairs three times to get a different key to open my room. I did not demagnetize it by my phone. The lock was just very wonky.
The location cannot be beat. The staff is wonderful. The rooms are large and nicely appointed. Valet parking in the middle of the city.

United States of AmericaTerrible coffee.
Elegant hotel on the Zocalo in the heart of the city. Beautiful public spaces, spacious room with a firm king size bed, good hot shower. I stayed here twice, I like the place. Wish it was warm enough to use the pool. The winter weather was often cold and windy. Can be noisy from all the music in the Zocalo but its one of the main characters of the place, lots of live music and dance performances. Its very festive. Ample breakfast buffet of average food.

United States of AmericaMy bathroom smelled terrible. It was from the drain. I came back to a different room and it didn't have that issue.
Very nice hotel, elegant public spaces, spacious nicely furnished room. Reasonable price for a nice hotel. Noisy at night but its music from the Zocalo so its is festive. Nice dining room with a complete breakfast buffet. I enjoyed Veracruz.

United States of AmericaThe airport shuttle wasn't available in the evening or in the morning. One afternoon, around 2-4pm, we were taking an afternoon siesta and someone, likely a staff member, knocked on our door, but we didn't respond in our stupor and they opened the door briefly until they realized we were in the room. We didn't see who it was and called reception to report it, but they just said they don't know why their staff would do that and hung up. Also, we were able to sleep at night because we were tired and we brought ear plugs, otherwise, the music goes on until 3am.
Ample room & bathroom size, a lot to do within waking distance, tourism information available, easy to catch a taxi, great views from upper floors, we like the hard wood floors because it's more hygienic than carpets.

United States of AmericaThe only issue we had was that housekeeping took one of our towels after the first night, leaving us with a damp towel and hand towel. We requested a second towel at the front desk twice, but never received one. And we interrupted the housekeeper in the middle of cleaning, so it wasn't her fault. The light near the sink in room 409 goes on and off constantly(this is to alert the hotel staff.) Also, the room temperature was stuck at 17C, which was very cold. We turned it off completely when we figured out how. If you don't speak Spanish, expect to need a translation app. It will help. Any complaints are very minor. The hotel is quite nice.
The hotel is attractive and located right on the Zocolo. Our room faced to the side of the square, but the view was still nice, with a church bell tower and rooftops, and a door opens with an iron gate so we could have fresh air and hear music from below. The room was spacious and comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. We had 4 pillows, which we liked, though it was because there were 2 beds. We are a married couple, but the other bed was nice for organizing our suitcases after a week of travel. The breakfast buffet was very good with many options for different preferences, and the staff there were also very helpful.

United States of AmericaWill everything suffice? The prime location right on the Zocalo, the nice terrace bars and restaurants onsite, the exceptional staff at every position -- this place is great. Room was large and comfortable, had a mini-fridge (rare in Mexico), nice bed, and powerful shower. With lots of hot water when needed. Oh -- bath tub too. There's a mezzanine level gym and pool with lots of space inside and out. Everything one might need is very close too -- lots of bars, restaurants, stores, little markets and plenty of street food. The Malecon is a short walk -- maybe 15 minutes -- and beaches aren't far. To sum up, this place is a winner. It's beautiful, clean and well managed. Can't wait to return.
