Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThis is a beautiful boutique hotel with fantastic views of the ocean. The host met us at the door and we had wonderful conversations. The property has a fascinating history. The location is great and you can walk to Centro along the wonderful Malecon (promenade).

CanadaIt was a bit noisy on weekends being so close to Malacon but that is to be expected
We loved the location of Casa Lulu as it was near to great restaurants, the plaza machado and mere steps from the Malecon. The staff was so accommodating and led by Ramiro, the manager who was a great source of information and there for our every need. The complimentary breakfast was great, served poolside, very handy not having to go out to find a restaurant first thing in the morning.

United States of AmericaIt’s quiet and beautiful! The rooms were spacious with a minimalist design. The AC is powerful too. The pool is intimate and the hotel has great views of the water. The staff was very friendly! Flor and the gentleman (I forget his name) answered our questions, offered to set up taxi service and provided recommendations for dinner. 10 out 10 would recommend for couples or for a chill friend trip (4 or less).

MexicoThe staff was were very graceful when we asked to change rooms twice, due to dirty bed sheets. Finally the third room was clean. We were given an upgrade.
Casa Lulu feels like an art gallery, beautifully decorated with good service. We had a full breakfast which exceeded expectations. It's located walking distance to el Malecon, which is fantastic.

United States of AmericaOnly issue was that during all of our stay, we weren’t able to shower with any hot water. At first, we were told that it was because the water heated with a solar system. So I decided to still shower at night with cold water. My friend decided to wait and showered in the morning but still didn’t get hot water. Water was only lukewarm but not hot enough. Staff told us that they would call a plumber, we got back, were told that the plumber had come, and that everything was fine. Unfortunately, we still didn’t have hot water but did not mention anything again as it was our last night.
Loved the properties decor. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Czech Republic1. Not accepting debit cards - I couldn’t pay by my debit card. I have never had this experience anywhere, in any country I have visited. I don’t understand why do you accept credit cards only? 2. Deposit - hotel requested pretty high deposit which was almost the same price as one night. 3. Mess in my room - I opened closet and there were several empty bottles from previous guest. This is something unacceptable in five * hotel. 4. NO HOT WATER - there was not hot water during my stay. Not even once. This was the worst thing of all. If you come home after long day and you can’t take a shower it’s really bad. 5. Breakfast - hotel served only one type of meal without any chance to choose. In 5* hotel I expect wide range of different kind of meal with possibility to choose. Hotel just served eggs and bit of fruit. It was very poor breakfast. 6. Room facilities - rooms are quite far from 5* hotel. It looks more like surf house where I would expect exactly this kind of room but it definitely does not meet my expectation of 5* hotel

United States of Americathe surf room happens to be one of the most expensive rooms, yet it has the tiniest bathroom of all the rooms. so cramped it made it hard to use the toilet. the shower, the sink, and the toilet shared such a tiny space. there’s no space to even hang a hand towel. in comparison to the other rooms, that have normal or more spacious size bathrooms, the room should be lower in price. its no wonder they don’t show a full image of the surf room bathroom, as to hide the fact that it is so small.
the hotel was clean and really cool. the room was nice, although the bathroom was way too small.

United States of AmericaPoorly maintained and dirty property.
Hotel Boutique Casa Lulu is a poorly maintained property and it shows. There is mold, walls have cracks, the bathroom has ceramic cracked, and it was dirty, etc. Even crickets come to your room so you might not sleep well. The pool ws discusting and had a brown rusty color. On top of it the breakfast is lousy. Our enitre stay was so overpriced for what we got.
