Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We loved our stay here. Everything was great and Bandara the caretaker provided an exceptional service and attended to our needs. He helped us with transport the day we were leaving and even found us a fantastic place to have our breakfast.

Good rooms for the price. Nice bathroom. The houskeeper(Bandara) is super friendly and helpfull. If you want he can drive/show you arround for a good price. The offer really good Breakfast and dinner.

Nice Bungalow. Clean rooms comfortable beds. Closer to Nuwaraeliya town. Bandara caretaker is a very friendly person and looked after our needs. Very tasty srilankan breakfast. Would love to visit again.

The position is excellent, and the surroundings are peaceful. The property's host is extremely hospitable, making sure that each guest feels comfortable and at home through their genuine kindness and meticulous care. The room was impeccably clean, with cozy beds adorned with soft blankets and a refreshing warm shower. We highly recommend this place!

A neighboring hotel was a bit noisy on Saturday evening and the nearby Buddhist temple starts its day early, but the place was super quiet besides these two points.
Nice place to stay, clean and quiet, just next to Kandy city center (15min walk). The owners were really nice and welcomed us with an excellent tea. There was hot water in the showers and cosy common areas.

Quiet neighborhood, yet only 10 minute walk to the City centre. Host was really friendly, also arranged a cheap Tuktuk for us to the Railway Station.

A very nice and comfortable place, the property and room was well maintained and clean. The living places were also homely. Bandara the host was friendly and maintained the place well. It would be a ideal place for a small group to book the whole place and have a relaxing few days at NE. Well worth the price too. Unfortunately we only spent 1 night would loved to have stayed a few more days!

Bandara was so accommodating and friendly. He picked us up from the station both on our first day and also very late at night when we missed our planned train from Ella to Nanu Oya. His cooking was one of our favourite things about the trip - good wholesome Sri-Lankan family food that me and my partner absolutely devoured. Bandara took us to places we said we would like to see including Ramboda falls and two tea factories. The WiFi worked well for our stay and the room was very comfortable. Bandara’s warmth was much appreciated and meant we had a wonderful time in Nuwara Eliya.

This is a unique gem. It is in a classic colonial house surrounded by a beautiful garden and fields. Bandara, the host, is an incredible person - super kind, helpful, and nice. He makes this place a true experience. The breakfast is also a great treat. The place is very clean and was equipped with everything I needed. Will definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.

There's nothing we didn't like.
The location is a cosy little place located in a very peaceful location in a walking distance to Nuwara Eliya town. The caretaker Bandara is an extremely friendly and helpful person. The rooms are also comfortable and clean. All the offered facilities are working fine i.e. hot water, wifi, etc.

Cute room with a garden view. The bed was comfortable, the roo was clean, has hot water and wifi. Quiet place around 4-5 mins by tuktuk from the center. The owner is kind and hospitable, would defo recommend!
