We had a great time at the Nilaveli beach resort. The staff was really very nice. What is not said is that, on the beach, next to the resort, there is an exceptionnal spectacle every day: traditionnal fishing. Fishermen bring an enormous net with a boat, about 1 km away from the shore. The net is linked with 2 long ropes that 20 people pull up from the beach for about 2 hours. Estonishing to discover how many fishes they bring that way in their net!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Everything was good overall. This was one of the most beautiful place I've been in Sri Lanka. They have a very clean room and the food was delicious. The beach was very nice too.

The WiFi connection was often quite weak or we were unable to connect altogether. The staff were all very lovely however it often felt like they were understaffed during breakfast and dinner service. We also sometimes struggled to contact staff during the daytime to order a drink or purchase water which was a little frustrating at a four star resort.

Room setting was beautiful, very peaceful spot to relax after spending 16 days exploring the rest of the country. The staff put a lot of effort into organising some games to celebrate Tamil New years which made our first day very special.

No major issues, but the ratio of fruit and sweets for breakfast could be more in favour of fresh local fruits. The bed was a bit too soft.

We really enjoyed everything about our stay at Nilaveli Beach Resort. Location is amazing, the hotel is on the beach (you step out of the room and are already in front of the sea), super quiet and ideal for relaxing. It's a bit secluded from the outside but the restaurant offers great food at a reasonable price. Comfortable and clean room. The staff were super helpful, specially the manager John.

The beach did have plastic litter, but I can't blame the hotel for that. However, the stretch of the beach in front was clean. I actually think if the whole beach were clean, it would be one of the best in the world.

Really enjoyed my stay here, but I only stayed for 2 nights so I can't really comment on too much. Staff were kind and accommodating. Food was good too. Very secluded location on the beach.

Fabulous location on the beach, great for a relaxing few days. Rooms were clean, spacious and well equipped. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and food was cooked fresh to order and tasty. Breakfast is plentiful and they met our needs with some special requests. Would love to come back, wish we had stayed a little longer!

Beautiful hotel. They just completed their maintenance and repair works. The hotel concept is so genuine, not just copy from anywhere, the cozy warm ambience make you so relax. Great room, great food, great service, great beach, all worth the price. Coming back again next year!

The see-side was full of plastic-trash. It was not the mistake of the hotel. You know all the vilages use the rivers as rubbish dump in Srilanka ... than the trush trawell to the see, ... the the tides, waves and sea currents deposit them on some stretches of coast

The location is excellent. The room, and the garden was very beautiful. The quality of the foods in the restaurant of the hotel was perfect (we used it every day, because it was the best choice around.). The staff was very kind and helpfull.

Nothing really, just be aware that it’s not close to a town.

Beds were huge and comfortable. Room was large and classy, huge bathroom too with great shower. Right on the beach - which was cleaned of bottles and rubbish. Food was pleasant enough, and staff were kind.

We rented scooters and the helmet was way too big, it fall from my head while driving. There must be a safe option if you rent a scooter. The food was good in the restaurant, but unfortunately they did not offer alcoholic cocktails and the restaurant was closed between lunch and dinner time. The closing time was a bit unfortunate as there is nothing in the closer area if you want to grab food.

It was right on the beach, in a very calm area. If you’re looking for socializing possibilities, you must drive to Trincomalee or to Nilaveli city. The rooms were clean with hot water and good cleaning.

Everything about the hotel is fabulous, it’s not often I ever want to go back to a hotel however I would go back to this one tomorrow. We even extended our stay. The staff are simply amazing, the food incredible and the hotel it’s self is 10/10.

The are fishermen fishing directly on the beach in front of the resort, and so the beach is not very clean and furthemore, there are literally hundreds of crows waiting for the fish on the trees of the hotel. The sound they do is unstopping all day long. WiFi was working only in the room There are limited restaurants nearby and only going by tuk tuk.

Dinner or lunch menu has good variety but they should add more choices for vegan. Upon request the waiter prepared for us a nice table directly on the beach for dinner and was very nice. The staff is all very kind and helpfull. We had a nice seafront bungalow and it had been cleaned every day.

This was our relaxing moment in Sri Lanka and well it was everything we expected, the staff, the food (the restaurant is excellent), the room, the location. A beautiful beach nearly all to ourselves (fishermen were sometimes pulling in nets). The staff was always helpful and smiling. The room was perfect and the bathroom too. It was so clean but keeping to environment friendly ideas which was nice to see. The hotel helped us plan a snorkelling day at Coral island which was really good. I would recommend to anyone who wants to really relax and even have a massage on the beach.
