Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceOf course your experience can also depend on the people with who you will share the room (and the bathroom...!). I was lucky on that side and also shared a really nice moment with a girl from Brasil on my last day ♥. Be aware that you need to bring your own towel and products for the bathroom.
For the price honestly the best option. I felt safe in the hostel for my first solo trip and I would definitely come back again. The staff was really friendly, the location absolutely perfect with a beautiful view of the city from the room. Every big attractions are reachable by foot and the Castel San Pietro is really easy to reach as well : funicolare or also by foot (if you can do it, i really recommend to go by foot, the path is worth it).

United KingdomThe only thing that was a slight problem was that the curtain had come away from the pole and we had to put that back in, so maybe a review of those minor things would be good. Also, just a note, towels are not included in the price!
loved the ethos of the place, the fact that our money is going towards women in need was so lovely. It felt very safe, the staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating, it was kept very clean and the rooms were really comfortable.

CanadaWhat I mentioned above. Being able to use the kitchen at all, even to make a coffee (there was a machine but it wasn’t that great)
It is also a woman’s shelter so no wine, no cooking, the kitchen is for the women. I found that at like 8-9 pm I had to move silently around the room as the women were in bed and trying to sleep already.

Czech RepublicThere's nothing "wrong" with the place -- only the restrictions. I was glad to stay for one night only, to experience the inner city of Verona, the old town. As it happened, my bed was in a room with no windows (so that likely shaped my view). I understand & respect the restrictions, but "because" I prefer to travel more spontaneously, one night was then "ok" & then I stayed somewhere else. For example, there isn't really a common space ... and ... even though the rules are very very clear in advance, I was still nervous that I'd break a rule or step over the "imaginary" boundaries. For example, I wanted to fill up my water bottle in the kitchen, and I wasn't sure if I should do that, or not. In my case, I didn't particularly like or trust my room-mate -- so that also likely shaped my time there....
I wanted to stay in the center of Verona, so this was a nice option, very close to everything I wanted to see. Also, this is a social project -- so -- I felt it was important to support it. I could leave my bag in advance. Clean & safe.

Very clean place, friendly staff, beds and room were comfortable and warm even if a little plain, enough plugs available. Felt very safe, and it was central, everything was walkable. Great place they offer for women!

Armeniaroom was cold at night, the heater didn’t really make difference. The blanket wasn’t comfortable and the sheets were not designed for it.
The location is great. Staff is also helpful, the spaces are big in hostel rooms, there is kettle and the room is clean. Also if you read the purpose of the hostel, it makes everything worth it.

SpainSo everything was okey and I cannot complain about anything. The bedroom was great really spacious and the bathroom was nice as well. I would say the best part is the location of the hostel, so central it was so easy to move around Verona.

South AfricaNo window big enough and high enough to let in fresh air and to look at the surrounding buildings or onto the street.
Room is spacious, has bathroom inside (shared, but good). Stone's throw from all the tourist sites. Very clean and organized hostel. Love it that it is only for females.

Czech RepublicIt could be a bit cleaner.
Absolutely superb location in the city centre. The stuff was nice, and the price amazing. The room was actually much nicer than it seemed in the pictures and parted in half, so it doesn't seem there's that many people with you. Even the bed was very comfortable, which never happened to me in a hostel before.

United KingdomThere were so many steps to climb, and with heavy luggage, it really was a struggle. There was a lift. However, guests weren't allowed to use it, and it was only operated by a key that we weren't provided. In fact, there was no room key provided either, which I found strange and the room was just left open. The lady at reception didn't know any English at all, which I understand given we were in Italy. However, this would have been helpful as a lot of guests staying there speak english as the first language. The room was fine. However, the ensuite toilets had quite a terrible smell. It was also quite noisy at night with the sound of kids crying.
I liked that it was single beds instead of bunk beds, and the area was quite central.

PolandThe room looks exactly as pictured. Expect a bit of darkness if you get a bed downstairs. Facilities are not in their best shape. But still, it's the best low-budget option for short stays for those who want to explore Verona.
