Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Unfortunately communication in English was difficult. I booked for half board but wasn't told while I was checking in that their full menu wasn't available. My room was not cleaned during my stay.
The hotel is situated very near the North Cliff, the room was very big with 2 balconies,it was very clean. The breakfast menu was limited but I think it was because there were not many guests the same applied for dinner as we had booked for half board. The swimming pool was clean and well kept with sunbeds. The hotel has a gym and a Spa where you can book a ayurvedic massage. A beautiful hotel in kerala style.

We liked almost everything in your Resort except the view from the balcony of room nos 104 and 105..
We liked the clean8 rooms, linen, toilets, swimming pool, dining hall and rest rooms. The food on all occasions were very good. Your staff at all ranks were very helpful, cheerful and attentive. Our stay was worth the money we spent there. We would like to send a letter of appreciation to your UK based owner if we can get his postal address or even his email ID. Thank you. P. K. There was a pretty good selection of foods for breakfast, although for me personally who usually has breakfast cereals for breakfast, corn flakes and bran was a little disappointing. I did ask for rolled oats each morning and was given it on one occasion but refused on the other two days. There was plenty of fruit which was good. And plenty of hot dishes, toast etc. to choose from.
Sajjoys was a very nice hotel in a great location. Five minutes walk to the beach, restaurants, Ayurvedic clinics. Bed was very comfortable. Our group made good use of the pool.

We had a comfortable stay. The breakfast was great. Pool was good. Room was clean and neat. Only drawback is there is no space inside to go for a walk or any other activities. But overall it was good experience

As a family of 4 with two teenage sons, Sajjoys was the perfect choice of hotel for us in Varkala. Fantastic location a short walk from the main beach and cliff top restaurants and shops, but far enough away from the main action to be an oasis of calm and relaxation too. Praveen and the team make Sajjoys even more special - everyone is so caring and attentive, they go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy and were super helpful with every request we had. The pool area is lovely, the rooms are large and comfortable, excellent in-room amenities, air con, comfortable beds and good water pressure! Finally the breakfast buffet is superb - they cater for everyone with western and Indian choices, if you’re piglets like us we had a bit of everything each morning it was so good! The Chef and catering team are so lovely and really made our stay even more enjoyable - there is a good room service menu also available all day which was invaluable for our boys when the heat was too much for them to venture out at lunchtime! We will absolutely be back and cannot recommend Sajjoys enough.

This is just constructive feedback so that the management will take note of it- the cleaning of the washroom during our stay( of 3 days) consisted of mostly only “drying” the wet washroom , it looked like no real cleaning was done. The policy may be that a proper cleaning is to be done only after each checkout, not during an ongoing stay, but that’s not what any guest would expect… As of now since the property is relatively new, it may not be too evident but if this practice continues, then it could result in the washrooms becoming dirty and unkempt in no time.
Extremely polite and courteous staff, comfortable &clean room, situated very close to the cliff.

A bit more hot water in the mornings
The location was amazing. The rooms were very comfortable, clean., and a good size. The breakfast was good. The staff always made sure we were comfortable and very friendly.

This is a very fine hotel with exceptional standards of service and amenity. The location is perfect, the pool refreshing and the standard room we had was much better than the average, large. comfortable and clean. Everything necessary was provided and the breakfast spread was lavish and outstanding. We must also make special mention of the staff, particularly Praveen, who went out of his way to ensure that we had everything we needed. We arrived a night later than expected due to a Scoot flight delay and consequent missed connection in Singapore but the hotel went out of their way to make sure we were not disadvantaged by this, they also organised a very late night airport pick up, which was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Sajjoys.
