Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Toilet was ok. You get what you paid for.
We had a perfect stay for one night only. It was close to central jail. Staff was very friendly and food was also good. Room was very comfortable. We could even see a little bit of sea from the restaurant.

May be guests can be requested to adhere to some quiet hours (e.g., 11PM-6PM) as sometimes guests can be noisy and disturb others.
Ananya Residency was the best hotel I and my husband ever stayed in, and we have stayed in 5 star resorts. It's absolutely value for money: it had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay in the heart of Port Blair and the kindest most generous staff I ever had the privilege of meeting. The owners, receptionist, kitchen staff everyone in that hotel were super courteous, helpful, generous, passionate professionals, I could go on and on and on... The food was wonderful (especially if you are suffering from homesickness ;) ) both in terms of quality and quantity. If you have to leave the hotel for an early check out or go sightseeing you can even request breakfast to be packed for you. I recommend Ananya Residency with all 5 stars and look forward to staying with them again! PS: If you want to learn/improve your Bengali it is the best place to practice! Everyone is very encouraging and helpful. :)

The location was at a steep level and the road in front of it was not proper and difficult to walk.

Wifi strength can be improved but cellular network was there to help

Cleanliness of bathrooms needs more attention.
It's peaceful location. Near to sea. Owner is friendly and tries to help the guests. Staff is courteous. We had a good time there.

It was a very nice hotel. The location was good. Hotel owner is very kind hearted and cooperative. He personally drove a car and dropped us at the airport as the cab driver was busy. The restaurant is also nice. They cook for us at very short notice.

There was no lift. It was bit difficult for elderly people to climb stairs to third floor.
Location was perfect, not far from airport. All the tourist attractions were nearby. You can see the ocean while having lunch.

You get what you pay for. It's essentially a B&B. So, don't expect luxury. The rooms on the second floor are spacious but the one I had on the first floor was very tiny. There is no lift. What it lacks in terms of size or amenities, the team makes up for with its positive attitude.
Outstanding service. The owner Mr Kshitish, Sukanta and others went out of their way to make us comfortable. Each and every request was attended to. Mr Kshitish even offered us his personal car for our local travel, which of course we refused. They were super nice. On our second day, they prepared a great lunch for us at very short notice. It was the best meal we had in Andaman. Very close to the sea. Had a nice walk along the marine drive. Only 10 m to the airport and to the Ferry.

There is nothing to dislike about Ananya. The owner and staff are always ready to assist in any situation...
The warmth of welcome from the owner and all staff (kitchen, car, residence staff) made our stay very comfortable. They guided us during our short hectic trip and comforted us with delicious foods from their kitchen. They are so well behaved and kind that one would never feel away from home. The residency is well connected with airport, jetty/port, and main market through cars and autos. Ramakrishna Mission, Cellular jail, Flag point (1st tricolour hoisting in India) are few steps away. The nearby sea side is very refreshing to take morning/evening walk. Also the dining area with sea view is the cherry on the top. The staying price is affordable considering all arrangements and food quality (for us it was excellent). Ananya was perfect for my family and our trip. I would like to revisit Ananya ❤️

Room cleanliness needs improvement, Bedsheets were stained and torn, no toilet paper, very basic bathroom Food was also very average, No generator when power went off & the ac & switches were not working in the hot summer
