Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwedenThere was no table or desk apart from a small nightstand, which makes this somewhat unsuitable for working (though the canteen does have tables available in a pinch). Further exacerbating this issues is the atrociously slow internet, which appears to be capped at 1Mbit. I understand the hotel needs to limit internet speeds by guests to avoid congestion, but at this rate, it is impossible to watch Youtube at anything over 480p. Forget video-calling, or watching streaming movies. One of the nightlights in my room was broken and hanging off of the wall, which felt somewhat dangerous. The other lights are all ancient fluorescent lighttubes, with very old and noisy ballasts. The lights in the bathroom especially made a very loud hum whenever they turned on and, because they turned out with a motion sensor, they turned on often. The hotel is amazingly close to the ferry terminal, which is really convenient, but it turns out that ferry terminals are noisy places. There is a lot of loud machinery audible during the night, so I ended up closing the windows. This solved the noise problem, but made the room quite stuffy. The ventilation systems could do with an overhaul.
Checking in was a breeze, since the Turisthotellet operates automatically and no staff was present. Simply enter the door code and the main door and my room door opened up. I was pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of a canteen with free tea, which was excellent, and free coffee, which was not. Both the room and bathroom were minimalistic but complete, with plenty of storage, plenty of hot water in the shower, and comfortable beds. The location is unbeatable if you are traveling by ferry: the check-in terminal could be seen from my room. The small parking lot associated with the hotel was completely empty when I was there, so parking should be no problem at all. If desired, the hotel also offers long-term parking, which may be useful for travelers by ferry who do not wish to take their car with them. While there were some other guests, I never heard anything from them, owing to the excellent sound insulation of my room. While I did not book breakfast, there was a fridge available for guests who plan to make their own breakfast arrangements. This can also be enjoyed outside in the garden, which has plenty of garden furniture for guests who stay on less rainy days.

NetherlandsDon't go here if you're looking for company or to hang out with other people. This is a place where people mostly stay for one night and hardly any visibly personnel.
Quiet and clean place to stay over for the night, or even for a couple of days. Ok place to work, close to the center and harbour of Frederikshavn.

United States of AmericaThe bathroom was outdated, and the door between the bathroom and the room was water damaged. The shower could use some really good deep cleaning.
We got what we expected, a place to stay close to a ferry to Sweden. Mission accomplished. Easy in, easy out, free parking, no hassle. check in and checkout are seamless.

SlovakiaEasy check in even during night. Older furniture. Clean rooms and bathroom as well. Simple breakfast. When comparing with other hotels in Denmark it was ok. When comparing with Berlin or Oslo then lower quality for higher price. I would recommend for 1-2 night stay if you want to discover nature around, Skagen, etc.

SlovakiaThe main door code worked on 10th time and the room code worked on 5th time (keypad was entering some numbers double). Gps navigation to the hotel address sends you on the other side of roadbarrier (the way to hotel is from the main street). There is one stair in the breakfast room that is of the same color as the floor.
A ghost hotel (no interaction with staff) with parking near the port haven. It is close to the city center, restaurants (5-7 min walk from the hotel), bus stop and exit from the ferry (2 min). The windows in the rooms are wide along the entire length of the wall. The shower was huge!
