Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomHaving to pay $30 for parking and over the bar can understandably be noisy. They did warn me about the noise and offered to move us to the boutique hotel, but the sea views were more important to me.
We had room 128 which had a separate lounge, 2 lovely bay windows and a balcony overlooking the beach.

AustraliaOn a Saturday night the music in the adjoining Hotel goes on till 1am and is loud.
Lovely staff. Free upgrade to Boutique side of hotel due to expected noise from adjoining hotel. Great underground parking although it cost extra. Close to cafes for breakfast. Room spacious, comfotable beds and large bathroom. All nicely furnished. Very central to beach and other Coogee facilities.

United KingdomWe could not find fault at all.
We arrived earlier than expected and asked for an early check in, the hotel were very helpful by checking us in at 12-00 midday instead of their normal 3-00pm check in. Anything we asked for was no trouble at all, staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent with beach 100 metres from the hotel and a vast array of bars, pubs restaurants along the strip.

United States of AmericaExcellent location, directly across the street from the beach area. Many restaurants within walking distance. Front desk personnel were very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the newer section of the hotel, which has very quiet rooms.

GermanyGood location directly at the beach, nice room with a great terrace. As stated, the rooms are accessible only by stairs, but that did not bother me. Some reviews said, it would be noisy because of the garden restaurant directly under the rooms, but I heard nothing of it when the windows/doors where closed.

AustraliaRooms on this (top) level have a balcony that was very sunny and has no roof, so lots of sun on the balcony in the morning, i.e. too much if hot, and no good if raining. The on-site car park under the boutique hotel is a long way from the front of the building which means a long carry of your stuff to get to the rooms, with no lift and a fair amount of stairs and corridors to navigate (but the staff helped with the carry when we checked in). Not as self-contained as a proper apartment alas, by which I mean only a small bar fridge, and no kitchenette to speak of. To my memory, no proper table to eat off, either. Which is a shame, as the rooms are quite big enough to be a good home away from home otherwise.
OK, this was one of the best (also most expensive) rooms in what is a sprawling pub complex in a very busy and relatively prestigious location, namely, the Coogee beach front on the main strip. It has all the facilities of a large pub: bars, restaurants etc. This review is about the rooms in the main pub building at the front of the complex, not the boutique hotel at the back, which is where the car park is. This was a good suite, comfortably furnished, balcony great for people watching, and very sunny with no roof so you can watch the stars at night. Balcony is shaded in the afternoon. Our particular room was far enough from the main beer garden area that there was no noise problems from the pub. They let us leave our car in their car park for a few hours after we checked out for no extra cost, which if you know Coogee, is a bonus.
