Candelas do Souto is a lovely converted farm house. It has lots of charm from the outside and is modern and clean inside. There are areas inside the property that show parts of the buildings history and old working life. There is a small but beautiful garden at the back of the property that is perfect for relaxing in.

The food at this restaurant was outstanding! The best food I have had in Portugal and I have lived here for a year. We will definitely go bac!!

Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. Breakfast was lovely with fresh juice, pastries and fruit. We were also sent away with extra slices of cake and fruit for our journey! We also had dinner there and nothing was too much. The food was excellent but was clearly prepared just for us and made it even more special with all the beams and vineyard features such as barrels in the reception and dining room. The bedroom was very cosy and the bed was extremely comfy and bathroom with a bath was excellent. The room was very large and had lots of features to make us feel like we were in the vineyard. The best bit was when we arrived and we were greeted by the family with glasses of port from their vineyard for free before sitting by a toasty fire to warm up - perfect welcome!!

Featuring pool views, Quinta de Chousas - Braga - Agroturismo offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free bikes and a garden, around 8.9 km from University of Minho - Braga Campus. This is a newly opened property, I think it was the first or second week that they have been open so we were some of their very first guests...The Property "Quinta" is located a little way outside Braga in a quiet location. It is a family-run property and upon arrival, we were initially greeted by Joao, one of the 3 sons, and the mother and father (Mae and Pai) also came out to greet us. We were given a tour of the rooms in what was originally a wheat-drying facility, now a beautifully renovated building. The renovations are beautifully done with wonderful design features that were clearly professionally designed and executed. As we were the only guests that evening we chose the room overlooking the pool area. Shortly after settling into our room, we were surprised by an amazing view of food and drinks poolside, prepared and cooked by the Mae and Pai using either produce from the property or local sources. Pork chops, cheeses, bread, homemade sausage, ham, and Wine from their vines. We sat by the pool enjoying the delicious food and despite the parents speaking almost no English and our limited Portuguese, we laughed and talked for hours. The following morning we had more delicious freshly prepared foods including a cake straight from the oven and freshly squeezed orange juice using fruit plucked off their own trees. It was clear that they are incredibly proud of their home, their family and the "Quinta". We were genuinely made to feel like family, NOT guests. Amazing. We actually returned the following evening and were welcomed with a tour of their fields, vineyard, sheep, ducks, beautiful German shepherds and so much more. The property is a not in town - but not far out - however, it is an oasis of kindness, peace and warmth. There is nothing not to love about the farm, facilities or family. A hidden gem.

Moinhos do Paiva is set in Castelo de Paiva and features a private pool and mountain views. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Nuno is an outstanding host. He seems to have a special worldview. His place looks like a piece of heaven, he welcomed us with open arms, gave us recommendations around the village, allowed us to use all the facilities - unlimited pool, kitchen and public living room, check out until 2pm with an elaborate breakfast. He suggested us to stay even after checking out to use these facilities. The environment gives quality time with nature, we rested and enjoyed. Only one minor thing-the road to the place includes sharp descents with narrow road-alleys that only good drivers can manage. Thank you for the time in Paradise Nuno. We will definitely come back to stay.

Boasting garden views, Quinta de Travassinhos- Douro Valley offers accommodation with a rooftop pool, an indoor pool and an open-air bath, around 6.5 km from Douro Museum. Everything was great! The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Set in Vila Nova de Foz Coa and only 18 km from Longroiva Hot Springs, Eira da Fraga offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The space was very clean and the location in the middle of nowhere but close from the city was perfect

Situated within 10 km of University of Minho - Braga Campus and 12 km of Braga Se Cathedral, Quinta das Areias - Solar da Pena provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Braga. The location was great for a nature bath. The host was really kind and helpful. the house looks like what the photos show.
